BLACKPINK’s Lisa recently made a special guest appearance on the YouTube show 'Zip Daesung,' and met with her YG Entertainment senior, Big Bang's Daesung.
The two shared various topics of discussion, including Lisa's solo album 'Alter Ego,' the unexpected expenses of operating her label, and more. In particular, Lisa confessed that she is more comfortable speaking Korean than English.
During the talk about her track "Born Again feat. Doja Cat & RAYE," Daesung praised, "The rhythm was absolutely killer," to which Lisa said, "Thank you. I also love this song." She continued, "Every time I fly, I just listen to it from start to finish."
Daesung found it intriguing how Lisa listens to her own album and said, "That means it must be a really good album. To be honest, once I release my music, I don't really listen to it." He added, "I listen to it so much during working on it and monitoring... honestly, I still feel a little shy hearing my own voice in the album." He continued, "I feel like it might make me look like a narcissist," using the word "narcissist" in English.
After Daesung said, "Narcissist," Lisa confessed she didn't know what that word meant. She said, "I feel like people are using that word a lot these days. But I don't actually know what that means." Surprised, Daesung commented, "Lisa, (but) you're really good at English," to which Lisa explained, "I'm not as good at English as I am at Korean."
Lisa revealed that she is most comfortable with Thai, then Korean, and then English. She elaborated, "Korean is more comfortable for me. When I do English interviews, I think of it in Korean first and then answer in English." Daesung became shocked and asked, ''It's Korean first?" and Lisa confidently replied, "Yes."
