Shin Hyun Joon, who worked with Kim Soo Mi on three projects, expressed his deep affection for the late actress, who was like a mother to him. He shared that seeing the poster for the movie with Kim Soo Mi brought back a flood of emotions. "When I saw the poster with Mom (Kim Soo Mi), I felt a deep sense of loss. She had told me, 'Let’s promote the movie as much as we can before the release,' but when I looked at the poster and saw only one chair, it hit me hard," he said, his voice shaking with emotion.
Shin also revealed that Kim Soo Mii had always hoped the film would bring comfort and joy to families. "She once said, 'I want to make a movie that makes people feel happy, like Our Barefoot Ki-bong, where families can relax, laugh, and enjoy the warmth of love.' That vision is what led to 'Thunderstruck Cop'," he explained. Kim Soo Mi also wished for the film to be released during the Lunar New Year, a wish that has now been fulfilled. "This feels like a final gift from her," said Shin.
