Rapper Lee Young Ji and the web variety show ‘NoCharim’ donated 40 million won (approximately 28,000 USD) for pediatric cancer treatment.
The donation will be used to cover treatment costs, transplantation expenses, and rehabilitation therapy for children battling pediatric cancer and rare diseases. Of the total, 10 million won will go toward these treatments, while 30 million won will fund the production of 300 “Together Hope Boxes,” part of the “Hope Box Project,” which supports families facing the sudden diagnosis of a child with these illnesses.
The donation was made possible through the proceeds from limited-edition goods sales held from November 16 to December 1, combined with a personal contribution from Lee Young Ji, adding warmth to the gesture.
Seo Sun Won, Secretary-General of the Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation, stated, “We are grateful to the program ‘NoCharim’ and rapper Lee Young Ji for being reliable supporters who bring comfort to families facing an unfamiliar lifestyle and changed circumstances due to pediatric cancer. As the year ends, we hope this donation inspires more people to think about children with cancer and their families.”
The Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation has been a specialized support organization for pediatric cancer patients and their families since 1991. The foundation provides treatment expenses and various psychological and social programs. It also collaborates with corporate social responsibility initiatives and ESG projects to help children grow up healthy and happy.
The web variety show ‘NoCharim’ concluded its third season at the end of November and continues to connect with subscribers through behind-the-scenes videos. Meanwhile, rapper Lee Young Ji is set to meet fans in the first half of 2025 with tvN’s ‘Earth Arcade 3.’
