Singer/actor Kim Jaejoong personally spoke up to address his own "fake dating scandal", which has been a hot topic on various online communities this week.
Previously, an individual believed to be a sasaeng fan of Kim Jaejoong came under fire for fabricating a "fake dating scandal", claiming that they were Kim Jaejoong's girlfriend.
The sasaeng, 'A', claimed that they had enjoyed a date with Kim Jaejoong soon after he returned to Korea from his overseas schedules, posting several photos as "evidence".
However, 'A' soon faced accusations of "fabricating" their story using a body double. Notably, the alleged "body double" in the photos was seen wearing the same hoodie worn by Kim Jaejoong at the airport and with a similar hair style.
Acknowledging the "dating scandal", Kim Jaejoong himself pointed to the fatal mistake which made the "body double" in the photos unconvincing, commenting,
"You should have photoshopped the man's face as well TT Why did you use someone with so little hair and volume T."
Kim Jaejoong further went on to applaud(?) the sasaeng's efforts in "photoshopping his famous snake table" into photos of an alleged couple celebration.
Assuring his fans that the dating scandal was completely groundless, Kim Jaejoong said,
"Kekeke apparently I'm in some dating scandal.
Kekeke I saw the photos. Did people really think that was me?
I don't even have time to sleep these days, so how can I have time for a relationship?
But wait, how did they photoshop my snake table in like that? It looks really natural.
Unfortunately, I don't really like cake.
If you had gone with a rainbow rice cake cake, it would have been more convincing.
You must not know me very well still!
But when I looked into it in detail, they got a lot of stuff right, like the lighting, the date that I got back to Korea, the food that I like, and the tattoo on my finger? Those were staged perfectly.
However, the scam couple made one more fatal mistake.
I don't like going to cute cafes lol.
I like dated places or local eateries.
If the person who was supposed to be me was eating gukbap (rice mixed in hot soup) instead of sipping coffee at a cafe, you might have actually fooled me."
While many netizens applauded Kim Jaejoong for his lighthearted jabs at what could have been a serious scandal, they also expressed concerns for the artist's wellbeing and pleaded with the singer to pursue strong legal action against the sasaeng.
