Kim Taehyung, aka V of BTS, continues to receive accolades even while serving in the military.
On September 7, the first day of the '2024 The Fact Music Awards' was held at Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan. Organized by The Fact and Fan N Star, the event celebrates outstanding contributors to the global Hallyu wave.
Taehyung's solo track "FRI(END)S" claimed the "Best Music (Spring)" award.
Released in March, FRI(END)S' was described as a "sweet confession" perfectly suited for the pink hues of Spring, making it an ideal winner for the category.
As the hosts noted, Taehyung was unable to deliver an acceptance speech due to his military service. However, despite Taehyung's hiatus, the unwavering support of his fans made this award possible.
In addition to this victory, Taehyung became the first K-pop idol to win the "Best Music" category two years in a row. This follows his win last year with "Slow Dancing."
"FRI(END)S" is a pop soul R&B track that expresses the desire to "put the 'end' in friends" and elevate a longstanding friendship to a deeper level, as cleverly hinted by the title's wordplay.
