Habitat for Humanity Korea has announced that Ong Seong Wu's fan club 'DC Inside Ong Seong Wu Gallery' has donated 5,240,825 KRW (~$3,950 USD) to celebrate his birthday (August 25).
The donation will be used in Habitat for Humanity Korea’s project to build homes for the families of Korean independence activists. The fan club added significance to the donation by combining the birthdate of Ong Seong Wu's official fan club 'WELO' (May 24) with Ong Seong Wu's birthday (August 25).
The fans who participated in the donation said, "In honor of actor Ong Seong Wu's birthday, we wanted to express our gratitude by remembering the sacrifice and dedication of independence activists. We hope this contribution can help improve the living conditions of their descendants."
Habitat for Humanity Korea expressed gratitude, saying, "We are thankful to the fan club for demonstrating such positive influence. The valuable donation will be transparently used to support the families of independence activists living in poor housing conditions."
Meanwhile, Ong Seong Wu enlisted in the military last April last year and is currently serving. Apart from debuting as a member of the 'Produce 101 Season 2' project group Wanna One, he is also known for his activities as an actor, appearing in both dramas and films. He is set to be discharged from the military in October.
