Netizens react to K-Pop idols attending Kanye West's 'Vultures Listening Experience' in Korea

On August 23, American musician Kanye West (also known as Ye) held his '¥$ Vultures Listening Experience' in Korea at Goyang Stadium. 

On this day, numerous Korean musicians, including K-hip-hop artists and K-Pop stars, were spotting in the audience, including 2NE1's CL and Minzy, aespa's Giselle and Winter, Jeon So Mi, NewJeans' Minji, Danielle, and Hanni, TREASURE's Jihoon, Hyunsuk, Yoshi, Doyoung, and Haruto, etc. 

For the Korean fans in attendance, the listening party was an unforgettable experience, as Kanye West brought out a mic and performed a medley of 77 of his songs live over the course of 2.5 hours, a rare occurrence even at the rapper's concerts. 

But despite the memorable experience enjoyed by some, there were others who responded with disapproval at the appearance of numerous K-Pop idols at the music event. Some Korean netizens were of the opinion that it might be harmful to the image of K-Pop idols to attend a show by the highly controversial American rapper, whose public reputation took significant damage after his allegedly anti-semitic remarks on Twitter and elsewhere in 2022, including "I'm going death con 3 ON JEWISH PEOPLE", " love Jewish people, but I also love Nazis. We got to stop dissing the Nazis all the time", and "Every human being has something of value that they brought to the table, especially Hitler". 

Netizens on one online community reacted with comments like,

"If you're a celebrity and you decide to consume such a controversial person, you should at least be prepared for some disapproving gazes."
