Actress Park Hye Soo takes legal action against accusers two years after the initial school bullying allegations

The agency representing the actress Park Hye Soo has announced that they have filed a criminal complaint against an individual who raised suspicions of her involvement in school violence and that the case has been forwarded for prosecution.

Park Hye Soo's agency, Ghost Studio, issued a statement in October noting, "We would like to provide an update regarding the ongoing legal matters concerning Park Hye Soo. We apologize for the delay in communicating our stance on this issue."

Regarding the defamation and criminal complaint, her agency explained, "The investigating agency found significant evidence that the accusers deliberately provided false information and damaged the social reputation of Park Hye Soo, leading to charges of defamation. Multiple investigations are presently in progress."

In addition to this case, Park Hye Soo has previously filed a lawsuit for damages caused by false information and defamation. Ghost Studio stated, "The defendant's residence is currently unknown which has caused a delay in the delivery of the lawsuit for numerous months. Both our agency and Park Hye Soo are committed to defending her rights and seeking justice. We will continue our efforts to ensure her rights are not compromised."

Earlier in February 2021, accusations of Park Hye Soo's involvement in school violence were widely circulated online. It was suggested by individuals who claimed to be her middle school classmates, that she had taken money from young students and conducted violent acts, including slapping.

In response, Park Hye Soo firmly denied these allegations, citing her experience as an exchange student in the United States, where she herself was a victim of school violence. She emphasized that she maintained close friendships in middle school, contradicting the accusations made by individual 'A' on her anonymous SNS account. She further questioned the authenticity of the so-called 'victim group,' labeling them as 'seemingly non-existent.' She pledged to pursue robust legal action as the accusations were falsely leveled against her.

These allegations of school violence resulted in the postponement of the KBS2 drama 'Dear.M,' where the actress played the lead role. Despite these setbacks, Park Hye Soo is set to return to the silver screen in the new movie 'You and I,' releasing on October 25. Directed by Jo Hyun Chul, the film narrates the story of high school students Semi and Haeun, who spend a day together conveying their mutual feelings. Park Hye Soo will be seen playing the character of Semi in the film.
