IU announced she's using the stage name IU to promote as an actress instead of going by Lee Ji Eun.
On March 30, IU and her 'Dream' co-stars attended a press conference for the movie, where the singer and actor expressed, "When I promote as an actress, I used my name Lee Ji Eun in the credits, but everyone called me IU anyway."
She continued, "I've been steadily active as a singer, and for example, if I come out as IU in March and then Lee Ji Eun in May, it might be confusing. That's why I decided to do everything as IU and unify both my actor name and singer name as IU."
'Dream, starring IU and Park Seo Joon as leads, premieres on April 26 KST.
