'The Astronaut' by Jin keeps setting amazing records in Japan. He became a ground-breaking K-pop soloist in the 2nd biggest music market in the world. For example, Jin is the highest-peaking K-pop soloist on the Billboard Hot 100 Japan this decade. He also became the 1st foreign artist to top the Oricon sales chart in the last 11 years. He even achieved a RIA Japan Album certification. What's also impressive is that Jin did that with a song in the Korean language and had no Japanese promotion at all. Music markets in Japan say that his physical albums were sold out everywhere in a single day.

We are very close to the end of this year, and music charts are posting the final results for all artists. The Oricon website updated the Year-End charts just a day ago. According to it, Jin became the only K-pop soloist to rank on the Oricon Year-End Singles Chart 2022! He is the 3rd K-pop act on the list overall and ranked #45. It is a very big success for any solo artist from Korea! Moreover, 'The Astronaut' had only a month of tracking for the Year-End chart. He is also at #49 on Billboard Japan Year-End Singles Sales Chart. And #58 on the Billboard Digital Song Sales Year-End chart. 

It is a known fact that Jin sounds very good when singing in the Japanese language. If he ever does a song in it and promotes it in Japan, it will achieve great success! Even with Korean songs, Jin charts in the Top 10-20 of the biggest Japanese streaming platforms, like Line and Recochoku.
