Fans finally have an update on the development of Jisoo’s solo debut. In 2018, Yang Hyun Suk, the former head of YG Entertainment, promised all BLACKPINK members are working on their own solo projects. Jisoo will be the last BLACKPINK member to make her solo debut after Jennie made hers in 2018 and Lisa and Rosé in 2021.
Jisoo is the only BLACKPINK member who has never released a solo song, even more than 6 years after BLACKPINK made their debut as a K-Pop group. YG Entertainment first confirmed plans for Jisoo’s solo debut back in 2020, via a statement where they also confirmed that she’ll be the last BLACKPINK member to make her solo debut. However, they have not provided any new updates regarding the same ever since.
On December 31st KST, a fan asked Jisoo on Weverse whether she can look forward to Jisoo's solo album next year.
Jisoo replied and said: “Please wait for Jisoo’s solo album in 2023.” It appears Jisoo confirmed that her solo album is releasing in 2023.
