BTS's V becomes the 1st artist to surpass 5 Million Spotify followers & monthly listeners simultaneously before an album/mixtape release
It's been a month since 'Christmas Tree's release, but the hype hasn't died down. Kim Taehyung, aka V, continues to achieve new peaks as a Korean soloist even before an official solo debut.
With only three unpromoted OSTs credited to his name, Taehyung’s page has surpassed 5 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
After surpassing 5 million Spotify followers a month ago, Taehyung has achieved the remarkable feat of becoming the 1st artist to surpass 5 million Spotify followers and monthly listeners at the same time before releasing an album or mixtape.
In addition, V's 'Christmas Tree' is now the first Korean OST and solo songby a Korean male act to reach #1 on the Top 200 Spotify South Korea Daily Chart.
'Christmas Tree' surpasses promoted solo releases by other Korean male soloists by becoming the first one to spend 20 days charting on Spotify Global. It was also the biggest gainer on the chart, jumping up 41 spots to rank at #155, for January 26.
When he has 5mls without an album, no mixtape, no collabs, and no promotion from his company/performances. I wonder what will happen when he is promoted as a solo and has an official album.

It's remarkable how Kim Taehyung, with only his humble spirit, infinite passion and a bottomless well of talent, manages to make everything he produces record-breaking, incredibly loved and highly marketable. I'm reminded of V's iconic line from Jump that goes "No matter who tries to stop me, I will go on my way". He wasn't kidding - the 2 lines he's given in the song become the most iconic, the hidden member becomes the most biased and an unpromoted OST becomes the hallmark of Soloist V. Taehyung never ceases to push the boundaries of success...just look at what he has accomplished with no mixtape, no solo collaborations and no promotion. I'm so very proud of the artist and person he is! 😊😍👑
