Big Hit Music announced that BTSwill be taking their time off to recharge.
Shortly after the arrival of Jin, Jimin, and Jungkook in Korea, the label announced the official vacation of BTS on December 6th. This marks their second official extended time off since August 2019.
According to the announcement, the boys will return with a new album and continue their 'Permission to Dance on Stage' tour in Seoul in March of next year after the vacation.

Of course since it's a BTS article the comments are mostly negative and full of passive aggressive hate LOL. Ya'll hold so much hatred for a Korean pop group, all they said was that they are going on a official short break and that triggered you LOL. It's not that deep. I guess it all comes down to ya'll taking KPOP too seriously and are pissed off BTS is in a position that your favorite group isn't, or some other dumb shit.
