'Filter' by BTS's Jimin continues to set new records on various major music streaming platforms

'Filter' has been setting records in sales and in streaming ever since its release.

It had the biggest debut for a Korean solo track in Spotify history, ranked second on the worldwide iTunes song chart only behind the title track, and trended second worldwide in music videos, again only behind the title track. It had the second-highest number of unique listeners on Melon and ranked second on all major Korean music platforms, including Melon, Flo, Bugs, Soribada, and Genie, as well as ranking higher than the title track on music charts in some countries like Australia despite having no radio play. As of now, 'Filter' is the only solo from MOTS: 7 to have sold more than 300k units in the US, having spent a total of 80 weeks on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart.

The records keep coming even after the song has been out for about a year and 8 months already.

On November 9, 'Filter' surpassed 220 million streams on Spotify, breaking the record as the fastest Korean B-side, unpromoted Korean solo song, and Korean male solo song to reach this milestone on the platform, which is also the most prominent music streaming platform in the world presently.

It also continues to be the most streamed solo song from the MOTS:7 album, the second most-streamed BTS solo song overall and ranks fifth among the most streamed Korean solo songs by Korean acts on Spotify. 'Filter' achieves these ranks in less than two years, which is highly impressive considering the fact that, just as mentioned, the song has never had any form of promotion, and it is a B-side track.

The new record had fans celebrating on Twitter and congratulating Jimin. Several keywords and hashtags entered Twitter trends, with 'Congratulations Jimin' getting onto the worldwide trends list.

On the same day, 'Filter' official audio track on YouTube surpassed 77 million streams, also maintaining its record as the most-streamed Korean solo audio track on the platform.

On November 5, a new record had been set on Melon, the largest music streaming and downloading platform in South Korea, when 'Filter' surpassed 120 million streams and thereby extended its record as the most-streamed Korean solo song by an idol group in the history of the platform.

It also remains to be the fourth most-streamed song from the MOTS:7 album and the 24 most streamed song under the BTS discography on Melon.

'Filter' is a masterpiece. Everything about it is captivating to the ears, keeping the listeners hooked. All the commendable records it has achieved so far are an indication of the charms of the song. The coming days will definitely continue to report more records for 'Filter' and for Jimin.
