IZ*ONE's 'Parallel Universe' project officially comes to an end, users who participated in crowdfunding through Wadiz will have their donations cancelled

AKP STAFF

The 'Parallel Universe' project, a fan-led crowdfunding effort to re-launch the project group IZ*ONE, has officially come to an end as of July 29 KST.

On this day, the crowdfunding platform Wadiz formally notified its users of the end of the massive 'Parallel Universe' project, which raised approximately 3 billion KRW (~ $2.6 million USD) in fan-supported funds.

In the notice, the fans who presided over the 'Parallel Universe' project revealed that they have decided to respect the wishes of CJ ENM, which previously announced that it will be difficult to bring all 12 members of IZ*ONE back together for any more promotions.

However, the leaders of the 'Parallel Universe' project promised to continue their efforts in contacting the agencies of individual IZ*ONE members in order to seek opportunities such as collaboration projects, unit activities, the release of unreleased tracks, etc.

Finally, participants who pledged support for the 'Parallel Universe' project through Wadiz will have their pledges automatically cancelled beginning on July 30.

"will have their pledges cancelled" ... does that mean they never had the money just a promise/pledge that it would be donated?

This whole project and it's financing is so unclear and dubious.

My understanding from the last article regarding this was that this money was in a bank account and the administrators of the project had collective control of it.

Perhaps, they never had $3 million at all ... just a pledge from fans ... it wouldn't surprise me.

Anyway, it's good to see the end of this ill-fated Project once and for all.
