BTS's V proves his title as the "Representative of K-pop" as he emerges as the most-searched male idol in Japan in 2020.

Throughout the year 2020, V of BTS has proven his unprecedented popularity in Japan in various forms.

V kicked off the year by making history as the first Korean soloist to achieve No.1 on the iTunes chart of Japan with his first-ever solo soundtrack titled "Sweet Night.” In a review of the melodious ballad, Yahoo Japan even named V as the “Absolute King of K-pop” adding another esteemed nickname to his ever-growing list.

Moreover, several Korean Media outlets reported on V's persistent rule as the highest-charting Korean / Foreign idol on the monthly ranking chart of Twipple (Japanese Twitter) throughout the year. Furthermore, V was one of the buzziest topics in the country as he took the trends by storm with his every appearance, whether it was through the release of new music, promotional activities, performances, or his presence on social media.

Due to the irrefutable love the Japanese fans shower on V, Japan is also fondly nicknamed as "Tae Tae Land."

As per multiple reports and sources, V is the best-selling idol in the country and oftentimes, fans have remarked that it is incredibly difficult to buy his merch as it sells out in a heartbeat. Thousands of fans have also been seen gathering to watch his birthday ads and even flocking to click a selfie with his banners.

In addition to the fans' overwhelming affection for the star, V's popularity is also evident from the media promotions and marketing in the country.

Earlier this year, the Japanese version of a book he was once photographed with was marketed as “V’s favourite book” Upon release, it became a commercial success once again cementing his undeniable brand power.

Furthermore, despite his role being a supporting character, TBS, one of the most widely-watched TV stations in Japan, advertised the airing of V’s debut drama series titled: "Hwarang" with snippets of him. Korean media outlets also reported on the news deeming V's popularity as one of the key factors for the positive reviews and ratings for the drama.

Given the number of records V has set this year alone in Japan, it comes as no surprise that he has become the most-searched Korean male idol in the country.

On a popular forum, many Netizens have also noted V as one who is "popular among even the muggles and men" and remarked it as "expected from Tae Tae Land."

As V is continuously flourishing as an artist, it is difficult to determine how much further he will broaden the K-pop universe as one of the most prominent representatives from this generation.
