After donating to China and Korea, Jaejoong participates in the fastest crowdfunding in Japan's history to combat COVID-19

STAR CONTRIBUTOR

After donating to China and S.Korea  in the past months,  Jaejoong  is keeping up the good work and has now participated in the Fastest Crowdfunding in Japan's History. Check out the truth behind the artist's April 1st post here, he never meant it as a joke as portrayed by medias.

Meanwhile, this crowdfunding was planned by Nonprofit organization "JAPAN HEART" and it aims to prevent the healthcare collapse due to COVID-19 by providing medical supplies such as masks, protective clothing and rubbing alcohol to medical personnels who are confronting the spread of the virus.

The organization said that Jaejoong has huge influence on the achievement of the targeted amount. JaeFans from Japan, Korea, China, Vietnam, Australia and around the world donated and shared their contributions on SNS to support this initiative and to encourage Jaejoong's noble intentions.

Adviser and Founder team member 'Mizoguchi Yuji' of Japan Heart, tweeted: "I’m overwhelmed by the great support and love of Jaejoong's fans. Thank you for what you did for Japan crossing the borders. I’m most grateful."

He added: "Most of the comments sent to me are messages from JaeJoong's fans. @bornfreeonekiss seems now to be in sadness about April 1st. However, he gathered the courage and cooperated for the sake of the Japanese medical workers without paying attention to the criticism. I can only thank him… Fans, do you want a message from JaeJoong?"

And lastly, he tweeted:

I could finally read comments of contributors.
“I joined since I knew the project from JaeJoong”
Such comments are so many. Considering the current situation of Japan & Korea & of his own, I can easily imagine how risky for him to express the support. He was brave enough to come out for the project, for this I’m most grateful.

The adviser's wife who is also a doctor and the chair of the organization, tweeted:  "Dear Jaejoong's fans, I’m most grateful to you!"

The initial goal of "JAPAN HEART" was to accumulate ¥50 Millions within a day, to their surprise they ended up gathering ¥153 Millions, exceeding 300% of the original goal, making it the fastest in the Japanese crowdfunding history.

-The organisation's advisor tweeted: "Tbh we wanted to set the goal to ¥100M considering the required amount of masks, but we thought “It would be too much in a day.” However an amazing thing is happening in the history of crowdfunding now! Would you like to join us to create a new history?"

After this successful crowdfunding, "JAPAN HEART" organized an online charitable auction for 2 days, all the profits will be added to the accumulated 153 Millions Yen, in order to help preventing the collapse of the healthcare system in Japan.

The auction exhibited the participants' items.  Jaejoong donated his GIVENCHY 'Autographed Jacket' and thanks to Fans bidding, it became the most expensive item of this charitable auction on the first day with over 800K Yen.

On the second day, Japanese professional baseball player Shohei Ohtani, who actually plays for Los Angeles, appeared to exhibit his own autographed bat at the charity auction that other 16 public figures participated in. His bat was sold successfully for 1,905,000 Yen making it the highest sold item. Japanese news reported that the second highest price was 801K Yen, for a signed jacket by Korean solo singer Jaejoong.

Following this achievement, Japanese netizens' reactions and praises for Jaejoong and his fans for their great contribution, poured: (reactions translated by @cloudnine0919)

-I’m a medical worker in a local town & I’ve always wanted to do something. Thank you for giving me a chance to contribute. I also thank J-JUN-san who acted for Japan even if it’s not your country.

-The goal has been achieved, Great! Seems like mostly Jaejoong's fans’ contributions. Sorry if I’m wrong! But reading Jaejoong's fans’ tweets I realized their love for him is just overwhelming. Being a Hyde fan I also support J-JUN, if you don’t mind.

- JaeJoong-san made the news of April Fool’s Day right? Being motivated to do proper research and now understand his real intention. It was inappropriate to cause a sensation, but seeing him participate in this project I think he did it after serious considerations.

-CrowdFunding by Japan Heart, founded by Dr. Yoshioka , is now trending on Twitter. I suppose this is because of JaeJoong who is one of the contributors. Thank you J-JUN!

-Even if I’m not his fan I understand Jaejoong is a good person. Two countries are on bad terms each other, but he conveys his messages in Japanese, acts for Japan. He’s amazing.

-Well.. he’s the only non-Japanese among those celebs 🥺 Thank you for your act to medical workers in Japan.

-What is more painful than anything else is to know medical workers got infected. Japan is enduring thanks to the hard work of medical professionals. I respect them the most. So I’m very happy to know & contribute to this project through JaeJoong.

-Of course the main reason for donation is they wish to provide masks but seeing many fans joined the project because they love JaeJoong-san I got teary. I think it’s so sweet of them.

Another important comment by the organizer/founder, he said that due to his recent scandal, JJ might get criticize but he is glad it doesn't stop JJ from doing the right thing and thankful for it.

He honestly seems to have a good heart and is going out of his way to help people. I applaud him, he's doing a lot of good work and people shouldn't make him into one mistake when he's doing so much good.
