Mnet denied that X1 and IZ*ONE were certain to disband.

Mnet said, "As the situation is serious, X1 and IZ*ONE's future is being discussed in various ways. However, we have not made any detailed plans on disbanding."

The police will be making a debriefing on their investigations on the 'Produce 101' series later today.

I guess but I’m not positive on this, but I think mnet has more to gain from them continuing as groups where as the companies have basically gotten the fame for their member and the cost of continuing as a group is not worth it so it might be a push and pull. That’s why the companies are saying they want to disband where as mnet denies they are disbanding. Izone from what I hear isn’t as affected in japan so idk, I guess we’ll have to wait longer to hear from them. It’s a bad situation and I’m personally torn between the two options.

The disbanding option protects the parent company's (CJ Corp) reputation. However, it also throws Mnet under the bus. I suspect CJ will think of a way to let the public decide.

They may announce a final concert prior to disbandment and (like Running Man in 2017), wait for a public petition to bring IZone and X1 back.

Or offer compensation to all P48/ PX101 participants and then let the public vote (properly audited) on whether to keep the groups/ disband.
