Actress Go Won-hee has admitted having plastic surgery. However, her coming-out has not drawn the usual criticism of Korean celebrities' "before-and-after" faces, but attracted support.

The star of KBS TV drama "Perfume" confessed to the surgery while answering a journalist's question at the show's press conference at the Yeouido KBS Cooking Studio in Seoul, Monday.

"It is the fact," the star from agency Management Koo coolly stated. She was more worried about her confession jeopardizing the drama's public reception.

Go plays a 23-year-old fashion model in the fantasy-romance-comedy, a seemingly happy and naive girl. But after she comes across a mysterious incident that got her thinking she has only a year to live, she decides to forgo her superficial ego and live like her true self.

Go's fans, referring to themselves as the "Perfume Gallery," released a statement online supporting the star.

They said Go ― whose confession has made her even more popular ― plays a complex character, for which she has been strenuously working.

"Her character in the show will surely be her lifetime performance to be remembered by viewers for a long time," the fans said Monday. "We ask you to hold your attention to her role (not her face)."

Go's Instagram attracted some who were critical of the star while others told her to ignore the detractors and praised her performance in the show.
