Did BTS make the best decision by collaborating with Halsey for their upcoming track 'Boy With Luv'?

Recently, BigHit revealed that BTS will be collaborating with Halsey for a new track 'Boy With Luv' which will be released on the day as their 'Map of Soul: Persona' Album. BigHit and BTS may have thought that this collaboration will bring about an exciting change in their career and their mass production of albums and tracks since their debut in 2013 however, there have been many mixed as well as negative responses to this news.

Additionally, there are fans who are excited for this collaboration and think of it as an extra treat beside the release of BTS' upcoming comeback album 'Map of Soul: Persona' on April 12 KST. Many fans have expressed their happiness and excitement through social media outlets and are showing support to their idols. On the other hand, there are fans that are somewhat disappointed in this latest revelation and have stated that they "expected better" from BTS. Some fans have been criticising BTS' and BigHit's decision regarding this collaboration by stating that Halsey was not the best choice out of many American artists they could've collaborated with and that Halsey's personality does not correlate with BTS' and therefore, this collaboration may not be a hit or have a major positive impact on BTS and their career. Furthermore, some fans also called out BTS for trying to please Western audiences and that they are only collaborating with American artists to gain even more recognition in the international industry.

Personally, I strongly believe that  every artist is talented in their own way and that each artist has their own unique way of portraying their personality through their various types of music. I think that Halsey and BTS will perfectly intertwine to produce the best results they can for their fans and that A.R.M.Y should not quickly excel in assuming the worst and should wait for the track to be released. I believe that our opinions really hold value if they are expressed after the release of the track. Moreover, I think that BTS, who are collaborating with artists like Nicki Minaj, Steve Aoki and in the future Halsey, are trying to please both their national and international audiences. As A.R.M.Y's are aware of the fact that during BTS' debut days their produces were normally based around attracting Korean audiences and this is because they didn't know they will be able to make it to a global scale. This means that BTS are working even harder to please their international fan base because they are aware of the responsibility they hold towards all types of their fans. Their collaboration with American or international artists shows their dedication and commitment towards their work as well as their care and love for their fans despite their gender, race, colour, nationality and, sexual identity. (See what I did there? RM is super influential 😂😉)

Why is this even talked about before the song is even released? Any collaboration between two artists would bring somthing new to the table and there’s nothing wrong with experimenting with different artists, sometimes it’s amazing, sometimes it’s meh. But we need to hear the song before making that call. Either way, wether the song is good or not, let’s be real, armies would be streaming the crap out of the MV once it’s released.

Halsey is not a typical pop singer so not everyone like her voice but she is very talented (I love 'Gasoline') and she is a friend of BTS and she supported them for a long time so I think the song will be good.

And again I've seen comments stating that BTS are trying to copy American artists. I'm proud of their international success and wonder, why so many people think that international stars have to be Americans? What's wrong with other nationalities and languages? BTS are international stars and as long as they have fans in many countries it's good for them to perform and promote not only in Korea or eastern Asia but in the US as well. And BTS don't really have to push themselves so hard to enter the American music industry. They already are a part of it.
