Comedian Ryu Dam went through an amazing transformation for his acting dreams. 

On March 7, Sidus HQ released new profile photos of Ryu Dam. The comedian, who was known for his big size, shocked netizens with a slim figure and sharp features. 

According to his agency, Ryu Dam lost 40kg (88lbs) by going on a strict diet and regularly exercising for the past 2 years. The transformation was majorly for his dreams as an actor. Ryu Dam also stated, "I wanted to try various characters while acting but the characters I could play was limited. My colleagues advised that my acting spectrum will broaden if I change my image with weight loss."

Back in 2003, Ryu Dam debuted as a KBS comedian. He appeared on 'Gag Concert' and was a member of 'Laws of the Jungle.' He has also played minor roles in many dramas including 'Sungkyunkwan Scandal,' 'Lights and Shadows,' 'Money Flower,' 'Golden Rainbow,' and more. 

Under Sidus HQ, Ryu Dam plans to actively promote as an actor from now on.
