YG releases firm official statement claiming that Seungri's Kakao messages were fabricated

Shortly after the controversial accusations toward Big Bang member Seungri based on a series of alleged Kakao Talk messages, YG Entertainment has stepped up to issue a firm response of refutal.

Previously, media outlet SBS funE accused Seungri as well as Seungri's business partners of hiring prostitutes for his "clients". On February 26, YG stated as follows:

"Hello, this is YG Entertainment. We are delivering our official stance regarding the recently posted news report involving Seungri.

After confirming with the individual, we attest that this news report in question is based on fabricated text messages; its claims are entirely false.

Furthermore, we at YG once again stress that as per our company procedure, we plan to enforce strict and unyielding legal action against any rumors and the spreading of malicious rumors, which include fabricated news and related activity."

I'm glad YG is sticking up for Seungri. Seungri could use all the help and love that he can get right now.

It must be a double-edged sword for YG too- if he sticks up for Seungri, some people will claim that he's simply backing up a criminal in order to save his company. If he ignores Seungri's situation, people will say that he's throwing Seungri under the bus to save his company. Then, there's conspiracy theorists who claim that YG orchestrated the events in order to get back at Seungri for Seungri making those comments about YG's lack of care for him and his tour a month ago. It seems like neither Seungri and YG can escape this situation completely unscathed.

Last I heard, Seungri was being accused of running a club where women were getting drugged and raped. Now they're just saying he hired some prostitutes. That's a pretty big difference, did they change their story?
