J.Y. Park opens up about JYP Entertainment's biggest problem

J.Y. Park opened up about JYP Entertainment's biggest problem.

On the January 24th installment of Mnet's reality show 'Super Intern', J.Y. Park held an interview with producers and discussed his plans to find the perfect intern for the agency. He explained, "Our company's problem is that you end up doing really well. Is that unlucky of me to say? It's true. You really end up doing well."

The JYPE head continued, "We need someone to give objective criticisms and judge our company at a time like this." He added, "It started since I was a back dancer. That's why I think I understand the frustration young people feel these days even more."

It's like when things are going too well....you start thinking in the back of your head....this can't last forever

true, but rather than "this can't last forever" it's more like "something is not right" it's like when you're climbing easily but cannot see the end, and suddenly without you even realizing theres a cliff in front of you and you can't even stop to make sure that you don't fall, in my point of view

I think he says that they do really well and move on to bigger and better things, so they lose their talent. I really think a lot of these big entertainment companies are good for training, gaining discipline and learning the business but once you're established (a veteran), you either have to move elsewhere to continue to grow or actively manage yourself within the company.

So he's saying that they need people to work for them who don't get wrapped up in the successes but can still push forward with new ideas and take criticism. It's so easy to only focus on the positive but then you stop growing that way.

This guy is leading Kpop in the right direction. I don't know if the industry can support 4 more groups he's planning on starting, but I wish them all well. Competition never hurt any industry. Some of these new groups will however fall through the cracks, gonna be tough to see these kids having to deal with it.

JYPE biggest problem? They don’t value vocals/talent and have zero capability/skill in properly managing their soloists. They also blacklisted their 2nd strongest vocalist Yerin and severely mismanaged their 1st strongest vocalist Jimin for YEARS

Ive never looked at the numbers, but I'm assuming soloists make far less than groups do for the company. There can't be a huge market for Korean baladeers outside of Korea. Being in Kpop as a member of a group, you don't need super impressive talented vocalists to succeed. Success unfortunately means making a profit. These companies sell walking commercials.. not much else. But damn so they do a good job of packaging it all together.
