SPOILER
Outraged By The Ridiculous Vote, Yoona’s Fandom Announced A Boycott Of The AAA 2018 Award Ceremony

As one of the strongest nominee of the Best Actress Popularity Award in the 2018 Asia Artist Award, Yoona was constantly losing a large number of votes without any explanations from the organiser has led to the female fan community's boycott.

Asia Artists Awards 2018 - AAA is currently entering the final phase of the polls before the official launch on November 28. As one the youngest prizes in the system of award ceremonies in Korea. however, AAA has a very high reputation after only 2 years due to the transparent voting and awarding rations,

AAA is the earliest open voting system of all awards at Kpop.

However, that may have been the story of previous years. For this year's event, one of the fan community of the nominee of the popularity award critized the award for being cheating. Yoona from SNSD was nominated for the Most Popular Actress Award, which she has won twice in succession to be named in 2016 and 2017.

Yoona has won the Popularity Award consecutively 2 years since 2016.

This year netizens saw the fierce competition between the actresses. In the preliminary round and first round, the 'National Goddess' was to able to win overwhelmingly, However, in the second round also known as the final round, Yoona's votes happened to fall behind by a big amount. This caused the fans of the idol to be extremely surprised when her votes were being deleted, which the votes were largely funded from the fan community in China.

The number of votes deducted has caused Yoona's votes to fall behind with a big gap.

In the previous 2 years of AAA, fans werent allowed to purchase the votes as there are limited votes per day. But this year, it happens that purchasing votes is available. Yoona's fans feel that it is okay to compete with purchased votes, but it is not okay for the organiser of this award ceremony to delete the fans' votes without any valid reasons. Specifically, this award has subtracted more than 100 thousands votes by the fans of the 29-year-old star paid for the purchase votes. The first time was 60,000 votes, but the fans said that it was because they voted in a large amount at one time so they were suspected to be illegal to do so.

After that, the fans gave in votes in small amount at one time so that the votes will not be deducted. However, AAA continued to clear 40,000 votes without any valid reasons and that was completely absurd because selling votes is one of the form provided by the BTC for the fans to purchase and vote. But then again the votes were being deleted without a good and fair reason. It's not just the vote or the award structure, but this is a blatant deception because one of the biggest fansite in China, Limyoonabar has dropped a big amount of around $14k in this prize, excluding the fans who purchased the votes individually. But in return, the treatment was extremely ridiculous and unreasonable.

This shows Yoona's votes were being deleted in a large amount for the second time and no valid reasons were given to the fans.

After a few days of complaining this issue to the organiser, the fans were being ignored. Some of the fans began to found out the Starple app started to delete the fans' purchasing and voting histories. It was not right to do so because the histories were to prove the votes are being purchased and voted in a legal way. But many fans started to see their histories being cleared without any explanation from the Starple app. This issue has made the fans mad because the votes were all being purchased and voted in a true and fair way but Starple app deleted their histories so that they can prove the fans' votes were deleted because those were illegal votes.

One of the fans captured her history and found out Starple app deleted her purchasing history without any reasons.

One of the main reason to the fans' boycott is due to the unfairness of the voting platform. Fans from all around the world paid in alot of money to purchase the votes for their idol but all were claimed to be illegitimate. They reported this issue to the organiser and they replied to the fans mentioning they deleted the votes because they wanted a clear and transparent platform for the fans to vote. But AAA and Starple are acting completely opposite to what they said. Until now, there isnt any official clear and fair explanation statements given by AAA and Starple. Due to the lack of transparency and unreasonable behaviour, the current Yoona fan community is trending #AAACheat hashtag on Twitter to claim justice for their idol. The fans demanded for a fair explanation and a refund. And also one of the famous television channel in Indonesia (Net TV) has also reported about this issue.

Yoona's fans are trending #AAACheat hashtag on Twitter so that the unfair issue can be noticed.

Net TV (Indonesia television channel) reported this issue on 18/11/2018.

The fansite said, as well as the fan community in Korea and also Vietnam has recently announced to stop voting and boycott the award ceremony until an official statement of fair explanation is given to apologize. The EXO-Ls (Exo's fanbase name) are also facing the same problem. Currently both fandoms are trying their best to seek for justice and keep spreading this issue to more people so that they will not be cheated by the Starple app.

But how you know that all votes are valid? You and others maybe not cheating - but still there are a lot of people who like to create multiple accounts, use VPN services and even pay for Chinese click farm.

I never voted in AAA but in MAMA last year there was a ton of cheaters (also votes was deducted) - even now some artists are able to gain in a short time an unimaginable number of votes to overtake everyone (who knows if they plan to remove unfair votes how to did it last year - soon we will see it - if so, some fans will be angry too)

In MAMA people can use only one of their social account (Kakao, Naver, Line, Waibo, tumblr, instagram, twitter, facebook, google accout) - even if they have all of them or multiple accounts in one of these SNS - but still how many people follow the rules? Many thinks - votes was counted means everything is OK...

I can't refer to votes in AAA because as I said I never voted there - but only fact that they have made the buying votes option is very strange and stupid (why people trust such websites - I would delete my account from this site if I saw this) - if AAA really manipulates their votes and trying to use fans for earnings your boycotting is a small punishment for them - their whole event should be canceled and all payments should be returned (it really smell like scam for me)

PS. Remember that even Youtube deletes illegal views (bots, etc.) - there is one most popular kpop group which huge number of views was deleted so as the result their views was not more than Taylor Swift views in 24h (now they finally broke this record with their new song - still some views was also deleted)

Removing votes that allegedly violate site regulations are really controversial - in future who knows maybe people (haters) will use this method as troll votes (if they will be sure that their voices which breaks the regulations will be removed) - similar to people who trying strange methods to freeze views in some videos

I don't say you all are not right - but just wonder how you are so sure that nobody is cheating. I see lot of people show the evidence - history of votes and purchase votes - but is that all people who showed it - or just some of them? Are all fans contacted one to another and made one simple evidence which can prove that all votes are legal - devices where they voted, used IP, etc.

Yoona's fans have the receipts, and other evidence too, even though AAA and Starple app 're even erasing all the evidence from the history of purchasing votes, AAA and Starple app are trying to hide the fraud.

Yoona's fans followed all the rules but their legal votes seem to be erased maliciously by AAA.without any explanations. it's A FRAUD, it's cheating.

Yoona fans gave legal votes with legal purchased votes, legal videos watched and legal games won, and also without multi-accounts. but AAA deleted 250K+ legal votes from her fans without any explanations. Yoona should be the real winner, but they have sabotaged her first place. AAA so obvious in not wanting Yoona to win again.

i think, the app is really striving for fair and transparent voting. What happened to me last time was... i voted and then tried to vote again using different account. The app blocked me, not just my account but my device! I uninstalled and installed the app again but it totally has blocked my phone. 😭 so now i am using a different phone + one account to vote. Didn’t dare to sign in on multiple accounts.

Now what happened i think, the app doesn’t allow votes from fan-funded community as it is unfair..so there is a limit for purchased vote per account. The algorithm ‘think’ usd1000 of vote purchase per one person doesn’t make ‘sense’. Thus, delete the votes. This does not happen to yoona only, I saw votes deleted from DO, bts and exo. It is the same with youtube deleting views from low quality playback, as the software ‘sees’ them as bots.

The prob is, the app didn’t mention these limits and allowing fans to purchase as much as they want. I never bought the votes as i think it is unacceptable. It also mention that u will only be refunded if u haven’t use the votes that u purchased. Sadly, I don’t think they will get their money back if they have voted....

They even delete the history of Yoonaddict (yoona fans) purchasing, or watching entertainment votes. Her fans have evidences and proofs. New dirty business model. Charge money for the ability to vote more than once. Delete votes so fans have to buy even more of them.

Btw, this is missing the most blatant one, IU had only 400k votes on prevoting, while Yoona had 870k. But apparently IU has now over a million, gaining over 700k, while Yoona gained only few thousands???

firstly Yoona's fans are talking about the app and AAA organizers and their unfair award for the category of 'most popular actresss'. Yoona's fans do not blame iu's fans for AAA's cheating, unfair and voting fraud; they blame only the organizers and Starple app. Yoona's fans officially stopped voting since November 15,

We know that the strongest support for each celebrity comes from their own fandoms because there it is Most Number of their fans, Right! . Now, if we analyze the situation;

IU is WINNING BECAUSE of the DELETED LEGAL VOTES of YOONA by AAA and Starple app. No offensement but YoonA's fans spent a lot THOUSANDS of money just for her.

ofc Yoona's and Iu's fandoms are working hard. iu fandoms are strong and rich, iu's fandoms purchased votes too, BUT YOONA's FANDOMS are STRONGER and RICHER than iu's fandoms.

C H E C K ••►AAA's Voting starts in November 2,

Nov.12, IU's fansite voted 6500 vote, but that day, the votes for iu increased 50k??????????? how is possible 50K????????? while iu fansite reflects a very small number of votes.that day..

iu fandom did 6500 legal votes from CN and about 8000 from KR since their donation part1 didn't reach the goal of 50kRMB while YOONA's fans reached 200kRMB in one week.

Nov.15 AAA deleted 250K+ LEGAL votes in total of Yoona fans.

This is an unfair manipulation of votes by AAA organizers and Starple app, they are benefiting with this fraud to iu, but this fraud is not fault of iu or iu's fans. Those who operate the voting system are the only ones to blame #AAACheart #StarpleappCheat. Unfortunately this award of the category "most popular actress" is already unfair and fraudulent.

Some of iu fans are angry with yoona's fans, one of iu fans even accused that Yoona's fans can not accept lose, etc. But Yoona is not losing legally, Yoona is losing because of AAA's fraudulence voting, AAA organization and Starple app deleted their legal votes. Yoona fans have evidence to prove that their legal votes were deleted.

If AAA had done a fair and legal voting, Yoona will be the winner for the third time .

Yoona's and Iu's fandoms were buying votes legally.. The purchase of votes is legally allowed and approved by one of AAA's organizers' rules. but AAA deleted 250k+ legals votes purchased legally from Yoona's fans.

if AAA and Starple app had not deleted their legal votes. Yoona would be winning the first place.

honeslty, iu's fandom is strong and rich but not as much as yoona's fandoms.

Yoona's fandoms are so rich, organized and so strong that they can even build a school, apartments and a stadium, also including even the maintenance FOREVER..

I know we can not compare the individual fandoms supports of both artists as solo singers because Yoona STILL has not DEBUTED as a soloist singer so yoona still does not have official solid sales nor digital sales of an official albums/mini-albums.

BUT we can compare them as individual actresses, both have debuted as actresses.

In korean drama industry there is a tradition called " The Rice Wreath Support" where the fans show the support for their INDIVIDUAL bias (actor/actress) to help the poorly-fed children or other needy as specified by their bias. well.

Yoona's fans sent her 42 tons of rice for one of her kdramas. YOONA became the #1 korean actress and kpop idol-actress with the HIGHEST RICE WREATH SUPPORT of ALL TIMES. her fans are so rich, so strong and so philanthropists.

That's the entire point. Were you even paying attention.

IU: prevote 400k + main votes 700k

Yoona: prevote 900k + main votes 0-30k wtf????????

Even if their fanbases would be same size, yoona should've gained the same 700k as IU has, or anything even remotely close to that. But she didn't, not even close.

I voted in the 1st round as it was simple and straight forward, then in the second round I had to download an ap to vote, weird but ok so I did that, the ap wanted to access the photo's on my phone so I said NO naturally because that's personal and private information and I don't give out that sort of information but that was apparently a deal breaker for this Starple ap and I couldn't vote.

That and now I'm finding out you could "purchase votes" shows this "award" is nothing but a money making scam and nobody, I repeat NOBODY should ever vote in the AAA ever again.

A ap whose so purpose is to access and no doubt on sell your personal information coupled to a pay to win vote system is a predatory scam purposely designed to defraud you and quite frankly should be illegal, if they want us to simply vote they should have stuck with the first round voting system, the second round shows they are using fans most of which are under the age of consent as an easy means to make money, never allow any ap to access your personal information and never pay for votes!

We have no choice but to do so, in the previous years, we were able to get Yoona the award because limited votes are allowed per day. But when it comes to this year, all these purchasing and earning votes are allowed. But we tried our best to get the award for our idol. The issue is that our hard-earned money and votes are being deleted by the organisers without any valid reasons. What we wanted is only a fair and clear platform to vote.

But would it be that terrible if she didn't win the award one time?

But does nobody else think that it is absolutely unacceptable that votes can be PURCHASED? I mean, with this, you are literally handing an award to an artist not because he/she has the strongest/ most loyal fanbase but because he/she has the RICHEST fanbase or the fanbase that is the most willing to spend money.

This is just wrong on so many levels and the result of the Awards will be pretty much meaningless. (I'm just stating this as someone who doesn't have any favorite in this category and who wouldn't have cared much about who wins anyway, so I'm just objectively stating my opinion on the AAA's voting system)

Honey, most of the award ceremony apps nowadays do provide the option of purchasing votes. If we are able to not purchase votes, we wont even do that. The matter is this voting system happened to offer this to the fans but they ended up deleting them without any reasons. i sincerely hope u get what i mean.

Yeah, I get this is unfair af. Its a fucking scam. However instead of giving money to such bullshit you should rather boycott it. Music awards are ridiculous anyway, worldwide. I dont understand how you can even support that in the first place.

I hate the way awards nowadays giving options to purchase votes for winning. Back then kpop is all about music. Where winning or losing depends on the quality, album sales, which is more professional and a satisfactory to everyone. I miss the senior's generation

has nothing to do with this article, but just how much do votes count towards the final consideration for the award? winners as well as runners up of these awards are primarily singers now actors/actresses who have large fanbases. some awards are being awarded based purely on popularity (coming from voting) and not on acting.

I'm sure the organizers are really distraught by this boycott. They must be crying rivers of tears because of this.

When fans ever learn that Korean awards always make fans to pay to vote then they give whoever they want? Usually no attendance no award, so if your artists are not confirmed to attend, they are likely not getting an award.

Its not the people who buy votes are stupid, fans are just trying their very best to get the award for their idol. Its the organiser who created such a dumb and cheating platform is the stupid. This *User* AKP ARTICLE ; *132* UP VOTES and counting (currently).

Have to say that the SONE (SNSD) are an IMPRESSIVE K-pop Fan Group!

This particular *User* AKP ARTICLE proves (to me) that NOT all the *User* ARTICLES are 'junk' somehow.

And also, you can set the *AUTHOR* AKP FILTER (Top Left Menu) to list *AKP STAFF ONLY* ARTICLES ; IF you want that.

This post isnt meant to be a professional one. The author is only trying to spread the issue to more netizens and explain how AAA and Starple cheated the fans' money. Allkpop did not ask for a professional article either. It isnt wrong to say the author is a Yoona fan, because the main reason is that all Yoona and EXO fans are trying to seek for justice instead of being a professional author. Thanks for your concern btw

But you have to see the real contex of this article which your statement above is doesn’t make any sense at all. What we are trying to do right now is a justice and asking back the money where the voted have been deleted unfairly by the organizer. We didn’t even mentioned IU in the article, oh men, come on!!! 🙄
