It's the 10th anniversary of SISTAR's "Shake It."
On June 22, 2015, SISTAR released their 3rd mini album ‘Shake It.’ The title track of the same name, "Shake It," was produced by the hit-making team Duble Sidekick and became a quintessential SISTAR summer dance anthem. With bold brass elements and a groovy retro rhythm, the song stood out for its addictive hook and refreshing vocals.
As public interest surged around "Shake It," SISTAR continued their upward momentum. On July 2, 2015, they took first place on Mnet’s music program ‘M Countdown,’ followed by another win on July 5, topping SBS’s ‘Inkigayo’ and even surpassing BIGBANG’s "Bang Bang Bang" and AOA’s "Heart Attack."
Their digital performance was equally impressive. During the fourth week of June 2015 (22nd–28th), "Shake It" secured the number one spot on Melon’s overall weekly chart.
In 2014, SISTAR had delivered a bright and breezy charm with "Touch My Body." The following year, they elevated that energy with "Shake It," offering a more refined take on their signature summer sound. The song’s universal appeal and easy-to-follow choreography helped it reach a broad audience across all age groups.
Known for their summer-ready hits and confident performances, SISTAR earned consistent praise for their strong stage presence and powerful vocals—an ideal match for the season’s lively atmosphere.
Still, SISTAR chose to leave the spotlight at their peak. After debuting in 2010, they officially announced their disbandment in May 2017, marking the end of their 7-year run. Since then, the members have continued pursuing individual careers as solo artists and actresses.
Member Soyou later shared that she faced a difficult time after the disbandment. Appearing on SBS’s special program ‘Bodymentary’ last year, she admitted, “Honestly, I was planning to retire after SISTAR disbanded. I was afraid of being alone,” drawing attention for her honest reflection.
