Actor Kim Soo Hyun has filed an additional criminal complaint for false accusation (malicious prosecution) against Kim Se Ui, the operator of YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute, and the family of the late actress Kim Sae Ron.
On June 23, legal representatives from law firm L.K.B & Partners, on behalf of Kim Soo Hyun and his agency Gold Medalist, announced, “Today, we have filed an additional criminal complaint against Garo Sero Institute’s operator Kim Se Ui and the family of the late actress Kim Sae Ron for false accusation.”
They emphasized, “As is already known, during a press conference held on May 7, 2025, at 2 p.m., Kim Se Ui played a fabricated audio recording—allegedly using AI deep voice technology—claiming that Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron had been romantically involved since middle school and that the recording proved it. He further alleged that Kim Soo Hyun’s side had attempted to offer ₩4 billion to acquire the file and, upon refusal, tried to have the whistleblower killed by sending two assassins. These are absurd and completely baseless claims.”
The legal team continued, “Using fabricated audio files, Kim Se Ui and Kim Sae Ron’s family went beyond mere rumor-spreading and actually filed a criminal complaint against Kim Soo Hyun for child welfare law violations. This constitutes clear malicious prosecution.”
They added, “Forging evidence is a serious crime, but filing criminal charges based on such forged evidence is an even graver offense. Gold Medalist and Kim Soo Hyun have taken swift legal action and will do everything necessary to ensure that the perpetrators are held accountable in accordance with the law.”

Gold Medalist and actor Kim Soo Hyun have today filed an additional criminal complaint for false accusation (malicious prosecution) against Kim Se Ui, operator of the YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute (hereinafter “Garo Sero”), and the family of the late actress Kim Sae Ron.
As is widely known, on May 7, 2025, at approximately 2:00 p.m., Kim Se Ui held a press conference during which he played an audio recording allegedly of the late actress Kim Sae Ron, which had been fabricated using AI deep voice technology. During this press event, he claimed:
– “Actor Kim Soo Hyun and the late actress Kim Sae Ron had been in a romantic relationship since middle school, and there is a recording to prove this.”
– “Kim Soo Hyun’s side offered ₩4 billion to the whistleblower in exchange for the recording. When the offer was refused, they attempted to murder the whistleblower by hiring two hitmen.”These statements are utterly absurd and constitute the dissemination of baseless falsehoods.

Moreover, based on this forged audio file, Kim Se Ui and the family of the late actress Kim Sae Ron went further by filing a criminal complaint accusing actor Kim Soo Hyun of child welfare law violations. This is clearly a case of malicious prosecution.

Fabricating evidence is a serious criminal act, but filing a criminal complaint based on forged evidence is an even more grave offense.
Accordingly, Gold Medalist and actor Kim Soo Hyun have taken prompt action by filing this additional complaint and will do everything in their power to ensure that the individuals responsible are held accountable under the law and in accordance with legal principles.
