'Produce 101' season 4 with male trainees to come in 2019?

A new season of 'Produce 101' is reportedly coming next year. 


A recent interview with Kim Ki Woong, the head director of Mnet, has surfaced online. In the interview, Kim Ki Woong discussed IZ*ONE's promotions and revealed Mnet is planning to launch season 4 in 2019 with male trainees. It's not yet confirmed if the show will be Korean trainees only, or a Korean and Japanese collaboration project similar to 'Produce 48'. 

The popular Mnet idol competition program has produced the girl group IOI in season 1, the boy group Wanna One in season 2, and most recently the new girl group IZ*ONE in season 3.
