The sequential timing of Jeon So Mi's new contract is leaving many in confusion about her severed ties with JYP Entertainment, once again.
On September 22nd, J.Y. Park had written about his company tenets, the future and accomplishments of JYP Entertainment, and news of his personal life. Just one day after this lengthy Instagram post, Jeon So Mi became the center of focus once more, as her contract with YG's The Black Label quickly spread across media.
In the post, J.Y. Park specifically outlined the following principles regarding JYP artists: "Our company has our own rules, and we try our utmost best to maintain that credo. Our artists are required to take good care of their own image, from the moment they become trainees." Then, he wrote: "If an artist continues to violate these standards, that artist can no longer be with us, even if they have already debuted."
With these claims, media outlets continued to report that there could always be a high possibility in which any JYP artist who has left the company may have been involved in such a case. Among netizens, previous gossip about ex-JYP artists' possible violation of a rule on the artist/trainee's part have been discussed, with Jeon So Mi's departure being the most recent. In particular, the back-to-back reports of Jeon So Mi's joining YG right after J.Y. Park's comments have given significant rise to even more speculations.
On the other hand, the specific set of rules that all JYP artists must follow has never been revealed to the public.
