The aunt of T.O.P spoke with E Daily about the current situation with the Big Bang member.

At Ehwa Womans University Mokdong Hospital on June 6, T.O.P's aunt stated to E Daily, "T.O.P has been suffering from depression and anxiety disorder. There were medications that he took on a daily basis but we didn't know they were nerve stabilizing medication."

The aunt revealed that the family spoke with T.O.P the day before he was sent to the ICU. She stated, "T.O.P spoke with his mom on the phone yesterday and said he's doing well. So we're in great shock right now.."

On June 6, T.O.P was found unconscious due to medication overdose and was moved to the ICU. Police clarified that T.O.P is just in deep sleep in response to his anti-anxiety medication. The star is also currently being investigated for marijuana use

Im not saying this is AKP's fault because sometimes AKP can be reliable, BUT for this time, you guys really messed up. BIG messed up. You do need to find new reporter, whom is neutral (not the one that only good in updating silly news about kpop). I was following your updates about TOP since the first marijuana case, all you give was just a tilly-tally news. FYI, I was reading all the comments, and yes, most of the readers were quite dissapointed in the way you guys updating the news. Including me. :(

allkpopellie Wednesday, June 7, 2017

I'm leaving allkpop for awhile, I'm so depressed :(, I need to recover.

krell allkpopellie Wednesday, June 7, 2017

AKP has a LOT of WACKY TROLLS using it. I would NOT get too concerned about them. TOP is going to be TROLL FUEL for awhile ; unfortunately.

kpoplove83 Wednesday, June 7, 2017

AKP...... how do you feel now that TOP's mom has spoken out and called people like you on their crap of spreading false rumors from unnamed (read: suspicious) sources? when are you ever going to get your crap togethe ad start reporting facts? your lies hurt people.

way0leto Tuesday, June 6, 2017

I just don't know what to say.. I am shocked, confused and sad. I just hope for better tomorrow...

bangeryun94 Tuesday, June 6, 2017

The police have now become qualified medical professionals.  They made him do the walk of shame.  No doubt they're trying to cya for something else as well.  And now the media has released where he is hospitalised.  Vultures.

NoonaVip bangeryun94 Tuesday, June 6, 2017

I'm so tired.😢

bangeryun94 NoonaVip Tuesday, June 6, 2017

Me too sunbae. The hate from this has burdened me terribly.

NoonaVip bangeryun94 Tuesday, June 6, 2017

I'd actually rather have Big Bang disband than to have Top hospitalized and in the state he's in.

allkpopellie NoonaVip Wednesday, June 7, 2017

Please don't say that :( my heart is so broken and those vultures, I'm so speechless :(.

NoonaVip allkpopellie Wednesday, June 7, 2017

I'm just comparing to show my level of hurt

Oh no :(

Gossip websites like Allkpop thrive from your clicks. Everyone who reads this kind of stuff is, in a way, responsible for how idols like TOP are being coverred/harrased by the media. I'm not saying we are responsible for TOP's actions. That's all on him. But the way the media follows his every move, even his smile, that is all up to us. Remember, gossip websites will print whatever makes the most visitor traffic. If you really care about your idols' privacy, think before you click.

megamanx jcallen Tuesday, June 6, 2017

Not really, maybe the Korean media, but international media don't harass idols they just translate the Korean media stuff.

Probably the reason why he took too much of his meds is he just wanted to rest for a little bit. He used sleep as an escape from reality which isn't a bad thing and if your meds can't help you, really, sleep is the only way to go. I know this because I myself is diagnosed with clinical depression and when my emotions get too much, I don't overdose with my meds but I sleep it off until I feel better. Maybe the same thing is happening with TOP, he just wants to sleep for two days. Feel better soon! This too shall pass. Keep on fighting TOP! As for the haters, give yourselves a break.

Your comment gives me so much faith! Thank you for sharing this! : )

Lixxz mism Tuesday, June 6, 2017

I agree, and have similar experiences, with insomnia on top of that. So on a really bad night, i would also want to sleep it off (when the alternative is staying awake and wishing i did not exist), and if insomnia prevents even that releif, I will take sleeping pills (or even marijuana!) so that i can actually sleep through it. You have to prioritize your mental health over society's judgment.

Shayma871104 mism Tuesday, June 6, 2017

I am also suffering from depression and anxiety so I can totally understand... sometimes it's just way too much and the meds are the only way... when I can't take it too and can't sleep I would take my meds, I know it's not very healthy but believe me, people, sometimes it's the only way... and with all that's been happening with him it's understandable... even the smallest hate comment can trigger my depression and anxiety so imagine what it would be like if million are hating on you as if you killed or raped someone -_- people should understand that there's limit to everything... they talk about freedom and respect but they forgot that you lose that once you assault someone's... give him a break! He knows he made a mistake, apologized and ready to take whatever punishment, leave him alone! He's a human too and humans are meant to be NOT PERFECT!

JustinasM Tuesday, June 6, 2017

Update: According to recent news, the following is pretty much a bullshit: *********** According to police report seems that TOP is doing good and is not in an exaggerated condition as articles made it look. TOP was not taken to hospital unconscious but was assisted instead. He was responsive to calling and pinching. As well that he was moved to ICU so that public won't be able to gather around. And will sleep one to two days until medication is out of his system.

kpoplove83 JustinasM Tuesday, June 6, 2017

but you do realize that's a bunch of BS though. the police wouldn't have access to his personal medical recordscand be announcing it to the world, even though Korean medican practice doesn't give as much privacy as other countries, they still cant just announce patient's medical records to the news. they'r epanickng because people are criiticizing them in korea for handling the whole situation so badly and trying to make it look as minor as possible so they wont get more flack for causing more issues. besides.... nothing SAFE makes you sleep for 2 days. that's called an overdose and has to be treated. not just sleeping it off. everyone in korea knows that police statement was (unfortunately) a load of crap. im sure he will be fine and now at this point will just have to let lingering side affects fade away so he can become fully conscious, but it's not as simple as the police tried to act

Lixxz kpoplove83 Tuesday, June 6, 2017

I respectfully disagree re: safety and sleeping that long. Source: personal experience with benadryl.

kpoplove83 Lixxz Wednesday, June 7, 2017

well i also disagree because i know it's not safe. regardless, the police statement WAS a bunch of BS as i said because top's mom just made a statement and is furious for people (like akp) for reporting an anonymous "source" that wasnt proven or even gave a name. he is still unconscious, not just sleeping heavily and he is in critical condition. YG confirmed it

Lixxz kpoplove83 Wednesday, June 7, 2017

Yes, i saw the updates. I was only saying that it was plausible, and in the example i gave, it's not unsafe. I wish it were true, in this case :(

kpoplove83 Lixxz Wednesday, June 7, 2017

yup i can def agree with that. so tragic TT

taj4329 Tuesday, June 6, 2017

Could just be a unfortunate thing where he took too many drugs to help him sleep and combined with his stress it led to a bad reaction. He didn't try suicide and its not "mediaplay" to get him sympathy.

citigirl78 taj4329 Tuesday, June 6, 2017

He has been taking it for years and he knows what amount is lethal. Taking extra to help sleep would be an extra 1/2 a pill or 1 pill. To be hospitalized he would have to take A LOT as in even 10+ is an Overdose. Btw police trying to talk it down by saying he's sleeping but it's actually a medicine/drug overdose. People can accidentally take too much but shpuld be ok after a few hours on the drip. He must of taken a lot which points to suicide. If anybody died in the police care the police dept will be investigated. Clearly their statement has been through their legal team. They have completely mismanaged the case.

Lixxz citigirl78 Tuesday, June 6, 2017

Standard dose of diphenhydramine (the medical ingredient in allergy meds and otc sleeping pills in north america) is 50mg. I have taken up to 200mgs, without fear of respiratory depression (the danger with that particular med, and the initial assumed danger in TOP's case), and have been able to sleep for over 24 hours. Probably could have slept longer. Not a life threatening overdose, just deep sleep, like the article describes. I obviously dont know what's in TOPs anxiety meds, but it is entirely possible for this story to be true.
