Musician Kang Rin, a former member of the group E.O.S and a trailblazer who introduced Euro-techno to the Korean public in the early 1990s, has passed away at the age of 58.

According to an exclusive report by Financial News, Kang Rin was found dead on July 31 at a hotel in Yeouido, Seoul. Police stated that there were no signs of foul play, but the exact cause of death has not been disclosed.

Kang Rin debuted in 1993 as a member of the trio E.O.S, alongside vocalist Kim Hyung Joong and guitarist Go Seok Young. The group produced a number of hit songs, including “Dream, Illusion, and Delusion,” “You’re Not Others,” and “Separate Ways.”

He initially participated in the group’s first album as a keyboardist and went on to take charge of production for their second and third albums. At the time, E.O.S gained popularity by delivering a distinctive sound based on Euro-techno—a genre that was still unfamiliar to the Korean music scene.

In 1995, Kang Rin formed the duo Lynn O&X and continued his musical career. He later became a producer under the label Yedang Sound, contributing to the industry by producing albums for artists such as Marie Jane and Zett.
