On May 1, UAA revealed that actor Yoo Ah In has been scheduled for a military re-examination on May 22 in regards to his previous injury.

His agency UAA commented, "Please understand that we are unable to present any further information at this time." The actor underwent four full examinations starting December 2015, May and December of last year, and this past March. Results found he was unfit to serve as a soldier for his mandatory military duty, which it seems Yoo Ah In aims to do.

Concerning his health, the results are yet to be uncovered after he was diagnosed with a bone tumor, leading to a postponement of his military duties.

Just let him go, he's an adult he can make his own choices even if they are ill advised. He seems convinced he'll have such a bad time from the public if he doesn't go, give him his uniform and let him do his duty.

It's ironic that he still wants to do military service even when he is ill, while other idols/actors/celebs who are fully healthy want to run away from military service, and do their best to make themselves unfit. And with these actions, they make citizens angry again and again, so they don't believe anymore when somebody is really unfit for the military service. I appreciate that Yoo Ah In wants to fullfill his task as a Korean man, but I think he really needs to rest and recover. Health is over everything.

So, this is his 5th examination, right?

im more concerned with the diagnosic, i would like him to fully recover first before doing something else... be it drama , variety or military. i dont mind waiting just as long as he recover's.

I'm enjoying Chicago Typewriter. This and Radiant Office are the only good dramas running right now. I hope it's pre-recorded. He should stop trying to be macho and just do a public service stint. He doesn't have to hold out for full grunt just to please the assholes on the internet.

Agree totally!

I hope he doesn't get any hate if he's deemed unfit for service again. Honestly he has no control over that so I think it's sad that this has angered people before. I don't know how it is in Korea but where I'm from you can be deemed unfit for service just because your sight isn't good enough, even if it isn't that bad. For example a friend of mine went through the tests because she wanted to go to the military, but they found she had a slightly below average hearing and she was rejected. It devastated her :/

It's a case of bad apples ruining for those who are legitimately unfit to serve. I'm still hoping Jung Il Woo will come out alive from this. But Chicago Typewriter! I hope it's preproduced?!?!

mamley_quartey mocchimar1 Tuesday, May 2, 2017

Not pre produced. However, I don't think the authorities would stop him halfway through this drama. Perhaps, YAI prefers the full military stint unlike.

Chicago Typerwriter is ending this month so by the time he gets notified by the military of whether he's fit or not he'll probably already be done filming.
