Idol groups that became victims to the 7 year jinx
The myth of K-Pop says idol groups struggle to stay together on their 7th year, ultimately, falling into the 7-year jinx. The Jinx happens more frequently in the 7th year as most contracts last for 7 years. Here are some of the idol groups who fell victim to this unfortunate K-Pop curse.

i would say BEAST survived the 7th year though?yeah it was a shit storm at first but look at them now as Highlight.

As disappointing as it may be to their fans, it's not really a surprise since Korean law doesn't allow for contracts lasting longer than 7 years. All that really matters is individual members continue to promote and pursue their individual goals.

I'm so sad. I came into kpop in 2007 and all the "old groups" are slowly disappear. :( I have a big trust in SHINee, Big Bang and Infinite, but I have a bad feeling about FT Island and CNBlue, hope it wouldn't be true. DBSK and Super Junior were my first kpop groups and they somehow still survive, but they are far from their peak now. Well, things change.

2010-2011-2012... Every year at least one or two (if not more) of our beloved groups will either disband or get serious damages. No one is safe :(

so many tears fell when 2ne1 disbanded especially when they released Goodbye

So far, the group that survived the "7 year jinx" are (as far as my kpop memory is concern): SHINee, BigBang, FT Island, CNBlue, Girl's Day, Infinite and 2PM. I wonder how the new groups will do the next 3-5 years from now..

Super Junior! As long as they're not lying about coming back, that is.

2pm didn't even pass the 7 year jinx, because just about 2 comebacks after their debut Jay Park leave the group

Winston unscrewedhorses Tuesday, May 30, 2017

i doubt so that they will be lying about it, i think after August, when their member rejoin them, the comeback should be around Sept or so, to give them some time to shoot the MV and practise the song.

That does not count because it's not related to the 7 year jinx. It was more related to predebut stuff that caused controversies.

apple_blossom fantasticlau Tuesday, May 30, 2017

I thought 7 years JINX is about 7 years still going on with the original member?? So yeah 2PM didnt pass the count
