The lineup was pretty good when I saw the headline and once I clicked on the article I realised the last half is quite underwhelming lol Either way it's good to see another concert/festival overseas with numerous groups as there hasn't really been one in ages since the K-Pop Festival in Shanghai back in 2014.

I think you may see a lot more activity of K-pop acts in SE Asia this year with the PRC being less welcoming now.  I believe that Ho Chi Minh City has been the usual stop for K-pop in Vietnam, but it looks like maybe there is interest in broadening the cities played in SE Asia as there are other major cities with fans in them that can help make up for the loss of dates played in China.  Also with more and more K-pop acts having members from SE Asia, especially from Thailand, it makes a lot of sense to market there more as K-pop is popular there and now you have prominent members that people in those markets can more readily identify with.

Odd, Ho Chi Minh City generally has the reputation of being the more cosmopolitan business capital as the former Saigon kind off like how Shanghai or Hong Kong compares to Beijing. I would have thought that would be the main stop for touring acts. Is that because with the Capitol being Hanoi you kind of have to play there first to avoid annoying someone in the bureaucracy who could put a stop to any future concerts?

no because Hanoi has many kpop fans , maybe Hanoi being the capital is one reason they chose to hold concert there too but there is nothing like they have to come to HN first or they will piss off someone. HN isnt far behind from HCM when it come to developement like you thought either, btw this upcoming april 1st there is another kpop concert in Hanoi

:p not blackpink :/

Might be because they are deep in preparations for a comeback later this spring or YG wanted more money than the promoter could afford. It's worth noting that JYP and SM aren't represented either, so it is quite possible it is a matter off money. For the promoter getting more acts to provide a wider variety to ticket buyers might have been more important than probably sacrificing several acts for what would likely just be a short set from a Big 3 act.

YG rarely participates in any of these concerts/festivals unless it is a YG Family Concert.
