During a recent interview, the CEO of YG Entertainment was asked about the sudden disbandment of the top girl group that shocked and saddened many.

Yang Hyun Suk explained, "I wanted to protect 2NE1 when Minzy moved to another label but the reason why I decided on their disbandment was because I believed that Park Bom's mental health was not well. After that incident (her drug controversy), the criticism she received was immense. Not only did Park Bom suffer from stress and guilt, but she also longed to keep promoting with 2NE1. I advised Park Bom that 2NE1 is important, but I wanted her to put her mental and physical health first."

He continued, "You never know what can happen so there may come a day when they reunite like S.E.S. I believe that day will come."

YG Entertainment officially announced 2NE1's disbandment in November of 2016. The group is scheduled to release one last track "Goodbye" on January 21.

When you read this, it sounds genuine and I'm sure he does care for her mental and physical state in a way. That being said, the way YG handled Park Bom's "drug" controversy was just awful and made it seem like they didn't give a damn about her.

For me it looks like he just named the reason everyone was thinking it was, the most plausible since they dont see Bom positively anyways, like a scapegoat, YG just trows away the ones that are a burden to them, i'm sure there is more people than just hyun suk making the calls since its a company with administrators so i know it's not directly his fault but they do wrong some of their artist a lot not physically but mentally and in spirit, even when they can bring talented people to their company they just dont handle their careers well. I started to think of YG as one of the worst in handling artist because of Winner, man they have everything in potential but YG cant deliver. I heard Bom denied  this on twitter as well, mental health? so she does drugs and needs mental health so she cant work, youknowwho does drugs but he can work just fine for them.

wait, so according to YG, Minzy or Park Bom the reason 2ne1 disbandment?

wait. wait. wait. If you wanted her to be safe for her own mental health, why you gotta toss her to the side like that? Wouldn't stripping her chances to continue her dreams as a singer be even more damaging to her mental health? and to completely come out to say that Park Bom was the reason why this legendary group split, would also make korean 2NE1 fans even more pissed.  Yes, there are many things about this situation that only YG and 2NE1 know about.. but  isn't it best to keep her in the company, and try to help her rise? Because of this druggie incident, Park Bom won't be able to find a new company willing to sign her on as they know she won't make much money for them, therefore her career as a singer will be completely over. If anything, being man he is, YG should've figured out a way to help Park Bom, like how MC Mong figured out to make his career again after his military teeth incident.

I just want to say that the way people view Park Bom internationally vs the way people view Park Bom here in Korea is VERY different from what I've seen. I don't know what her image is internationally, but I do know that many people love her for her singing talents, and she has many fans. BUT, in Korea she is viewed more negatively than positively. Even before the drug incident, many people here didn't really love her because they viewed her as the icon of "plastic surgery monster". Even many of my Korean friends would talk about how they "feel bad because plastic surgery ruined her face". What Park Bom needs right now is REST. Being an idol is very hard mentally, and especially after her drug incident the citizens of Korea aren't going to be any more accepting of her. Park Bom said herself that she respects YG and doesn't have ill feelings for him. Sure, Park Bom won't be able to find a new company but the moment the drug incident happened her career was pretty much already over. Sadly that's just how it is in Korea. Now people view her as the druggie idol and the "plastic surgery monster". There is nothing more YG can do for her, and now is her chance to find a peace of mind. It is her chance to start a new life, not as 2NE1's Park Bom but as Park Bom herself. All we can do now is support her and YG's decision, and pray that later on all the members will come back together just like S.E.S!

The druggie mess everything up... With all the drugs and PS, she needs therapy. A lot of it.

If someone left  his company on  their own free will, YG  get blamed. If they stayed and cannot deliver songs for any comebacks, he will get blamed. If he put health over wealth he will get blamed. IF he won't say anything about why he does things the way he did, fans will insinuate and still blames him anyway regardless. If he will say the truth, he will get blamed still. If he won't, blame him still. lol. My point? Fans cannot accept  things as they are, blame YG, it's the most convenient thing in the world.

seesaw4ever LAFF92 Saturday, January 21, 2017

Exactly! Ever since bad things and scandals and all happened, fans immediately turned back and put it all on YG's head. Even when it was clearly the artists' "faults". Like when they blame YG for Taeyang's album delay :/

This comment speaks EXACTLY what I've been thinking. Bom said herself she had no ill feelings yet and YG has never had a history of having one of his artists speak bad of him or try to sue him, but fans go crazy and start to insult YG.. Well I guess that's just the way people will always be..

saranghae_3 Saturday, January 21, 2017

YG might plan something in the future for 2NE1 like he did for Sechs Kies when Bom's mental health improves

BSoshi Saturday, January 21, 2017

Im sure Bom was part of the reason but however they is probably way too much hidden that YG can't reveal so..
