On January 27, composer Stay Alone expressed his concerns regarding B.Heart's "Realistic" plagiarism controversy of B2ST's "Ribbon."

The composer wrote on his Instagram, "The two songs may sound similar to listeners, however, when comparing the melody it is difficult to say they are the same."

Furthermore, "Compared to the characteristics of a 3-beat song and 4-beat song, a remake is relatively narrow.  It may only sound similar due to the inclusion of similar fillers."

Stay Alone explained, "I am stating that it was not plagiarism and it was my fault for not focusing on the misunderstandings from listeners.  I sincerely apologize."

However, "Ribbon" composer Kim Taejoo replied, "Now isn't that an arrogant answer," unable to hide his anger.

As a music major for over 20 years I can say that legally it's probably not plagiarism. But the composition was made in attempt to make it sound as similar as it can be to be called plagiarism.

Also, the 'defense' can be that the supposedly plagiarized song might be 'sourced' from YET a THIRD SONG that is IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN. IF you can locate a PUBLIC DOMAIN SONG that sounds a *lot* like the 'song in dispute,' then you have a *decent* defense. Even if you actually DID steal the song.

if Kim Taejoo and Junhyung feel so strongly this is plagiarism, why not pursue the matter through the courts?

kryjh bestrc Friday, January 27, 2017

It is plagiarised but Junhyung already stated out the facts and expressed that he just wants to issue to end here coz he doesn't have the time to deal with this as well

kryjh Friday, January 27, 2017

*the issue

The idols should quit while they are ahead. Even though they are not at fault, this controversy will linger with them throughout their career and they will have little chance to make it big.

Asianfan678 steadystrike Friday, January 27, 2017

I don't want them to disband again. They are the repackage group of the group Road Boyz who disbanded in November last year. lt would suck if they have to disband a second time.

Tenshio Asianfan678 Friday, January 27, 2017

Hopefully after Junhyung statement B2uty will try to understand the situations. But if not and B.Heart still getting harsh comment because of this, the company should take an act and put out official statement/apologize or something. I'm afraid because of this composer, all of other songs from B.Heart will be having a suspicions for copying or there will be a lot of haters.

Asianfan678 Tenshio Friday, January 27, 2017

I feel the same it's a tough road.

steadystrike Asianfan678 Friday, January 27, 2017

Oh man that sucks. I didn't even know that

Asianfan678 steadystrike Friday, January 27, 2017

It's fine

hellogrey Friday, January 27, 2017

Shameless. Don't even dream to be composer if your mentality is like that. Be a loser then!

Hyangmi_Ra Friday, January 27, 2017

I just feel bad to those rookie idol..its already hard to debut with a lot of idols make their debut lately and now they already having controversy..I wish best of luck for them~

Asianfan678 Hyangmi_Ra Friday, January 27, 2017

They had a controversy before. If you followed the Boy group Road Boyz this group is basically repackage of them. With three of the original members and one new one. It sucks hey have to go through this again.

unscrewedhorses Asianfan678 Friday, January 27, 2017

What was the controversy with the previous version of the group?

Tenshio unscrewedhorses Friday, January 27, 2017

They have a controversy with EXO right when they just started. Funny how things are repeated again tho Both of the controversy caused by ignorance and disrespect imo Although this time the stayalone guy who caused this. But they should have make another choreography too. I don't believe one bit they didn't know their choreo and song was similar to Beast. Rookie group even the senior often monitor other groups performance since that's what makes them grow and aware. Here's the link : Although idk if they have another controversy beside this one

Asianfan678 Tenshio Friday, January 27, 2017

Even if they did know it isn't like they can create their own chorography. None of the B.Heart members know how to make their own chorography. Plus the whole EXO scandal is still stupid in my opinion yeah I get that they shouldn't have blocked Chanyeol. But they were really excited to be on stage. Could you honestly blame then for that?

Asianfan678 Friday, January 27, 2017

Or at least I don't think they have a member who can do chorography.

Hyangmi_Ra Asianfan678 Friday, January 27, 2017

I dont know nothing about them but sometime its not fair because of other wrongdoing they got the controversy case where they blocked chanyeol, I just "What??just because of that?" always make something became BIG~

SahanaE Friday, January 27, 2017

Shit's about to go down.

NORM Friday, January 27, 2017

Lol That reply tho. Ooh Snap!!

Joha_B2uty Friday, January 27, 2017

Kim Tae Joo is ONE of the composer of Ribbon, he didn't composed the song by itself. He is part of the Team Good Life (Junhyung aka Joker and Kim Tae Joo aka T-Bird)

Crazy_Dog Joha_B2uty Friday, January 27, 2017

so he not cube in house producer?

Joha_B2uty Crazy_Dog Friday, January 27, 2017

Nope in fact junhyung and taejoo were classmates XD You know BEAST produce their own songs since 2013 with the 'SHADOW' era.

Crazy_Dog Joha_B2uty Friday, January 27, 2017

i see so their long time good friends

Asianfan678 Friday, January 27, 2017

What sucks about this is that B.Heart are going to be dragged by other people because of this composer. But I do hope Beast get their justice as well.
