Rapper San E's new track "Bad Year" (나쁜년), which also can be read as "Bad Bitch" in Korean, is gaining tremendous attention as it seems to secretly diss President Park Geun Hye

Not only the title but the lyrics also seem to indirectly target President Park and her involvement in the Choi Soon-Sil scandal.

In response to the speculations, San E's label, Brand New Music, spoke up and said, "We know it's not just a song about a breakup. San E boldly included things he wanted to say. We will leave it up to the listeners to determine the meaning."

Art has a long history of holding a mirror up to society, getting the public to think about their problems and issues in fresh ways. Shakespeare did a lot of it. So did Public Enemy. San E is becoming part of that tradition - I think it's great he has the courage to speak out in a music scene where such things are pretty rare.

AkA its a diss.

Look I'm korean so dont take this as some foreigner being racist towards koreans. Its more like lamenting over a embarrassing relative. Koreans infamously have a herd mentality. Obviously criticism and protesting to force Park to resign is understandable even commendable. But now its reached such a hysterical point where everyone is now just getting in on the act to virtue signal and show how hip they are. Look at all the gender based insults being directed towards Park. Even on celebrity articles that have nothing to do with politics they have to spam Choi Soon Sil stuff. A frigging feeding frenzy. Koreans also have a reputation for being over-emotional and they're showing why. A farmer lights himself on fire to protest a free trade bill. A man crashed a freaking crane into a building to help Choi Soon Sil die? Koreans are embarassing. Even if you want to say Park Geun Hye deserves it its hard to see netizens as the good guys when they act so disgracefully towards idols with their racism, misogyny, colorism, puritan standards of behavior and petty insults about their looks.

If you aren't familiar with the details of the scandal, then this might seem overly harsh of San E, but the overwhelming insanity of their current president's corruption makes such criticism seem mild, honestly.

So if the next president who is from the left does something ridiculous like oh pay 150 million dollars to North Korea in exchange for a summit its ok to make a diss song like this and of course Netizens will be ok with it? Give me a break. Netizens are all young leftist morons. Try taking a look at what they say about the United States sometime.

Gaming_Haku centen Wednesday, November 23, 2016

the president corrupted?

MOMOXWENDY taj4329 Friday, November 25, 2016

You obviously don't know anything about this issue if you think the diss song is too much.

taj4329 Wednesday, November 23, 2016

Really disgraceful to say that about the President regardless of the circumstances. Remember this is Korea not America. Idiot netizens show their hypocrisy criticising idols for not smiling but its ok to call the female president a bitch if its suits their political agenda.

kpopisbaebae taj4329 Wednesday, November 23, 2016

the world of double standards

bangeryun94 taj4329 Thursday, November 24, 2016

For a Korean you can't seem to separate people who troll Pann and bitch about an artist being rude and citizens who are concerned about the country.

SahanaE taj4329 Thursday, November 24, 2016

I understand the criticism towards neitzens who bash idols for the most ridiculous things but citizens of Korea have a right to speak up against the President and her corruption. Don't you think that allowing someone else who is unauthorized to make decisions for you disgraceful? Don't you think that the way she handled the Sewol Ferry tragedy was disgraceful? She's corrupt and people don't have to respect her just because she's the president.

The End
