Crayon Pop held the showcase for their first studio album on September 23, talking more about moving away from their long bygone 'helmet image' of "Bar Bar Bar" days.

They said, "It's been two years since we removed our helmets. Because so many people showed us love, they remember us by our helmets. It is our goal to be loved without our helmets."

Crayon Pop continued, "Every time we discuss concepts, we put forth numerous suggestions. We participated more in the concept developing process this time around. Wearing bell bottoms is an idea we suggested a year ago, but it was more fitting with this concept, and we designed the album cover and a new team logo. It's been such a long time since we made a comeback that it feels like we're debuting. Because it's our first full-length album, every member took care to participate in the [production] process. We want to show what we weren't able to thus far with this album. It's our first full-length album in a year and six months, so please look forward to it."

Question, though: Does Chrome still have the money to push the girls' popularity without their helmets? Promoting them without the gimmicky helmet would require more commitment, and ultimately, money from the company. And right now, it doesn't seem Chrome is that focused. They even just set the rolling album preview, which they released only hours ago, to private. Goodbye, 10,000+ views.

well, i've never loved them with the helmets either  xD they looked too freaking dumb and ridiculous to me. Hopefully this comeback will make them look a little more serious... maybe I could like it and all, I liked the teaser bit.

Nevermind the ilbe scandal they've just never had a good song past "Bar Bar Bar". At least their songs before that were cute... their follow up songs were just plain dumb...

I had to google that because I had no idea what that was and now I know why - that was 3 years ago? I'm pretty sure no one actually cared about the "pseudo-scandal".

kinda ironic how AKP is presenting them as a group with an image the group itself wants to shed.... xD way to throw shade AKP

IDK, nothing wrong with having your schtick and sticking with it. Like Sia with her blonde, eye-covering bob cut or Daft Punk and their helmets.

Both acts released better songs without their gimmicks, the only difference here is that Sia & Daft Punk started using them much later in their careers. Either way, if the songs are good - who cares.

I really admire Crayon Pop. They are part of kpop but total outsiders. Rebel idols.

IMO they've succeeded with the helmets,  they're going to be successful without the helmets but they also got to remember the helmets and bar bar bar made them successful they should never forget that❤️
