Not really? SHINee is not even considered a top tier group like DBSK/SuJu at their prime, Big Bang or EXO. Even Infinite and Beast have bigger k-fandoms...And out SHINee members, I've read that Key is the least popular one. The song didn't even crack top 100 on melon anyway so that proves my point.

Firstly, shawols (especially korean ones) don't flaunt their fandom. Secondly, all SHINee members are equal and many shawols support all five in everything they do, solo or not. And also, please tell me how a group is considered "top tier"?? Even if SHINee doesn't have the same fandom size as EXO, it doesn't matter when SHINee's accomplishments are pretty dazzling. I'm going to be truthful and say that I don't really look at charts so, personally for me, it doesn't matter. And anyway, this song is an OST and will be used in a drama, it's not a promotional song and therefore doesn't need to get top spots. Plus, SHINee oozes talent, you know that, right?

lol a fan saying they ooze talent doesn't mean anything because stans would praise everything their bias group do, but public reception and commercial success say otherwise. EXO and Big Bang are pretty much considered top tier due and you can see that in any korean article about top tier groups. Both are the "walls" amongst boy groups and both have huge public recognition while SHINee's results are pretty mediocre in general, especially for a Big3 boy group. It's not only that they can't sell like EXO, they can't top DBSK, SuJu and SNSD at their prime either. The song being an OST doesn't have anything to do. Taeyeon's had OSTs with more than 1 million of downloads. Chen's OST for DOTS has surpassed a million of downloads too. Don't pull dumb excuses to justify your faves' mediocre results.

Okay, I was stating my opinion, not pulling "dumb excuses". I get it; you're one of those kpop fans that think that "top tier" groups deserve everything and the rest suck. Fine, be ignorant. Just remember that EXO is a visual group and was made with SM's intention to get money. SHINee have promoted themselves, have worked extremely hard and have gotten good results out of it. And don't call SHINee mediocre; they're respected sunbaes and lead the hallyu wave for a while (and they still are some of the many kpop leading groups), while EXO got major success with Growl. EXO debuted with fans but a ton of recognition came with Growl. Plus, tell me an exact point of SHINee in "their prime".They're going strong, 8 years continuing and they're still going to continue making music. SHINee are pretty young for an 8-year group so you can see that they will continue. A lot of Korean groups are popular, why must everyone compare to EXO and BB?? Oh, and by the way, I'm a VIP and EXO-L as well as a Shawol so I don't think I'm being biased. Feel free to disagree though, I'm having a great laugh reading your replies.

How is EXO a visual group when Chen alone is considered a better vocalist than SHINee's entire vocal line? They also have better dancers (Kai, Lay, Sehun) while the only actual good dancer in SHINee is Taemin. It's hilarious how shawols get so salty at people "downplaying" their group when they're the first ones implying that other groups aren't talented. I didn't even call them mediocre anyway, I just said they have mediocre results which it's true. They don't have oustanding physicals or digitals or youtube views, they don't have big public recognition or a big fandom. Even in Japan where they're supposedly more popular, their actual sales aren't that good and even BTS sell more than them these days there. Idk why shawols get so salty when people state facts. Aren't shawols always saying that they don't care about sales and popularity? Don't get mad when people state that your faves aren't that successful then.

Btw, saying they lead the hallyu wave is hilarious when everyone knows that it was DBSK, SuJu, Wonder Girls, Big Bang, 2NE1 and SNSD for the 2nd generation and EXO, BTS and Twice for the 3rd generation. SHINee never had a big international fandom. If you ask any casual kpop fan or people that don't follow kpop most of them only know Big Bang, EXO, SNSD and 2NE1.

Okay, so I guess you didn't hear the tons of people praising SHINee during their Lucifer and Sherlock eras. As much as I like Chen, he is not better than SHINee's vocal line. All of SHINee sings. EXO is a bigger group and therefore will have more than one dancer and, also, Key, who you seem to have no respect for, also is a great dancer, and is considered a triple threat (good at dance, rap and singing). Thing is, you ARE downplaying SHINee, you sound as if you only know Taemin and Key. Onew has been praised by many for his singing skills and so has Jonghyun. I don't understand why you're comparing SHINee to EXO, when they both have different strengths and weaknesses. Also, when did I imply that other groups aren't talented??? Quote me please. SHINee does have a big fandom, bigger than Infinite's, research if you want me to believe that SHINee has a smaller fanbase. "BTS selling more than SHINee in Japan" uhhhh.... Sorry but no. SHINee has a really large Japanese fandom too and they buy, a lot. Plus, SHINee does concerts around Japan, Korea and sometimes China every year and they sell out. Google "shinee sells out concert" and this is a fact. I'm happy when I see SHINee's sales and popularity; they have both of these things. I guess you're too delusional to see it. SHINee has a big global fandom, I knew SHINee before EXO, people around me knew SHINee before a bunch of "top tier" groups. I don't understand why you're trying to feed me pretty much false info; all I want to say is that what you're trying to do is to degrade SHINee. Also, lemme say a few things about SHINee. So, SHINee's not popular, right? If not, why did they have to have 2 Osaka and Tokyo Domes because first day sold out??? Why did 50k+ people attend each day alone?? What about SHINee's choreos?? Some of the hardest in Kpop?? I'm sure you've heard about SHINee's dance ability as a group. Didn't you also hear that SHINee is called CDNee because they sound like their CDs when they sing?? Don't oppose me or any other shawol, SHINee is a great group with popularity, useful members (WHO ARE ALL TALENTED THAT YOU VERY MUCH) and with a giant global fandom. And so many people have praised them, including GDragon from the "top-tier" group Big Bang. Please go and watch some live performances of SHINee as 5 or as solos (eg: Taemin, Jonghyun etc.) before you tell me that SHINee can't dance, sing or rap. Oh, and last but not least, part of what made Key popular is Jongkey, a pretty awesome ship between Key and Jonghyun, I'm sure you've heard of them, they're really popular, like 2min. I hope that your small-minded brain understood everything I've said :)

By "tons of people" you mean their fans, right? Because neither Sherlock or Lucifer are considered iconic songs like Gee, Sorry Sorry, Growl, Lies, etc and even their download count is low for pre-2013 standards compared to other songs. Chen IS considered a better vocalist. Go to the site kpopvocalanalysis in which actual vocal trainers/professionals rank kpop idols based on their vocal skills and Chen is considered "competent to good" while Jonghyun is only "competent" and OnTae are even below Jonghyun at "above average to competent". Therefore Chen >>> SHINee's entire vocal line. I don't think I need to say that Minkey don't even qualify as vocalist and you can ask the vocal trainers in the website if you don't believe. Fans saying that all SHINee can sing doesn't hold any value compared with the opinion of actual professionals. If not, show me actual evidence of Minkey being considered good vocalists. You're claiming that I spew false evidence but it's you who are making useless claims without anything to back it up.

If you don't believe that Infinite has more fans, google "fancafe ranking kpop groups 2016" and you'll see that Infinite has WAY more members than SHINee, and not only that. Even B1A4, VIXX, BAP or BTOB have more members in their fancafe. Also google: "oricon half year chart 2016" and BTS' single Run has sold 133k in Japan while SHINee's Kimi no seide only sold 69k. Selling out concerts in Japan is not a big deal. Japanese people love music and attend to concerts even if they aren't big fans of the groups, so any mid-tier group can sell out a concert. So that doesn't prove that SHINee's popular there when even 2PM members can sell out solo concerts.

I'm not fixated on hating SHINee. I honestly don't care about them (I like Jonghyun and Taemin though), but shawols who go around downplaying other groups everytime someone points out that SHINee isn't that popular piss me the fuck up. Should I remember that it was YOU who started replying to me simply because I said that Key is not popular enough to help NCT to be more popular? The OP was calling NCT a FLOP and saying that Key was helping them out to be popular and I simply stated that Key is hardly popular to make a junior group get attention, and you're the one that started to spew all that shit about how SHINee is super popular and super talented compared to EXO who's only a "visual group" when you know that's not true. You also affirmed that SHINee's vocal line is superior to EXO without any proof to back it up when at least I used kpopvocalanalysis as an example because they're actual vocal trainers but according to you "they're not always accurated". Based on what? Are you a professional vocal trainer to know if they're accurated? Like I said, show me analysis from other professionals that back up what you're saying, but you don't even show evidence. Your claims are literally only based on your perceptions as a fan, so they aren't objective at all. You also denied that BTS sold more than SHINee in Japan today and I simply said that if you don't believe it, just google oricon half year sales. I didn't say I only care about sales but since you kept denying that BTS sold more, I simply pointed out that they in fact sold more. One thing is that you personally prefer SHINee's music or like them more as a group and another just denying the reality. Before downplaying other groups, at least bother to check actual facts and evidences like I'm doing.

BTS, BigBang and Exo is more popular and sell better ,admitted, but that doesnt make shinee a "not so popular" group. they are always in top 5 of best selling groups, really.. also Lucifer WAS included as a iconic kpop song together with growl, gee, etc etc various places, so .. but no, they're not the most popular, agreed. but individually they are very talented and have tons of non group works, compared to other artists, and are always praised by korean media for their individual strengths and talent.
