SM Entertainment is continuing its legal fight against Kris, Luhan, and Tao, who are all currently active in the Chinese entertainment industry.

On June 28, the agency announced it had formally filed 14 lawsuits in Chinese court against companies that are supporting the three "former" EXO members' promotions in China. Following SME's 9 cases in 2015, a total of 14 cases have been filed this year. SME has stated it's taking legal action as they've infringed upon the interest of EXO.

The label further restated that it considers Kris, Luhan, and Tao's activities in China as illegal violations of their contracts as SME artists. SME also stated the lawsuits are intended to mature the culture of both countries as well as to confirm the importance of intellectual property and contracts.

it is only right if the they pay for the loss and the termination of the contract....i support SM

hipopster Wednesday, June 29, 2016

Think of it as a relationship, one side could be abusive, one side could be hurt, or you both are probably just making up lies to cover up things that you were gonna do, what you have done, or what you want to do. We really don't know who's the bad guy. There's probably no bad guy. Why don't you just listen to both sides before you say anything bad about anybody. Anything could happen, Everything could be a lie too. Hating makes you look stupid so don't do that, it's funny so don't.

Kochigachi Wednesday, June 29, 2016

These Chinese backstabbed SM, claimed that they're sick or can't handle contract and then they went back to China & signed up another contracts and filled up with schedule. These Chinese boys used SM to get fame. This is why Kpop industry is now reluctant to sign up foreigners.

AshleyDaUnicorn Kochigachi Wednesday, June 29, 2016

What I find funny is how you're using "Chinese" as if it's an insult. They aren't just "Chinese," but they are humans as well.

Aleeis Kochigachi Wednesday, June 29, 2016

Just because they don't have bad health now, it doesn't mean they didn't back then with SM. The difference being that they can choose their projects now and stop working anytime they want to.

wenders Aleeis Thursday, June 30, 2016

What you guys say is true, BUT, the fact is that they are still in contract with SM, and SM has the right to do exactly what they're doing right now, because of that contract. I would say Luhan and Kris has a better chance at winning, but honestly I feel like SM might win.

Aleeis wenders Monday, July 4, 2016

Under contract or not, unethical treatment nullifies a contract. That is what is up to the courts to decide. You dpnt put up with shit, just cause you signed a stupid contract. Human rights trump contracts.

wenders Aleeis Tuesday, July 5, 2016

it is up to the court to decide but if all that were true, the contract would have already been nullified. Since the issue is still going on....this proves that SM still has a hand over the entire situation. its all about the money man...

Aleeis wenders Tuesday, July 5, 2016

No, it doesn't prove anything. If the contract were legit and SM were in the right, the courts would have thrown out the case long ago or ruled against Kris/Luhan/Tao. It's just that they are Korean after all , and would probably prefer to stand behind their own by allowing SM to keep at it.

wenders Aleeis Wednesday, July 6, 2016

It does prove something, it proves that although they want the contract nullified, there is no proof that will convince the court that SM has violated anything WITHIN the contract. Its on going because you're right there was SPECULATION of mistreatment. I'm just saying that SM doesn't mind taking a long time to deal with them because they gain publicity through it all (even if its bad publicity) and not only that, they build up their case that while still under contract, these three guys are promoting and signing on to other companies. Overall we can't really say whats going to happen, unless we all have the contract and read through all the clauses. I hope SM loses the case, BUT I seriusly think SM will win as well because they're wealthy, and they can manipulate alot of things as well.

suicidesquad Wednesday, June 29, 2016

The one who think SM is too much is stupid, SM trying protect EXO, your oppa, from these greedy aszhole. Just keep studying, so when you grow up you can be rich, have business and some company then you will know why SM have to do this.

ElvisPanda suicidesquad Wednesday, June 29, 2016

Yeah... There are times SM did shitty things... But in this case, they are right... It's wrong to snatch artist which still in contract with other company...

XNUT_Channie ElvisPanda Wednesday, June 29, 2016

I don't think that Luhan, kris and Tao's contract in SME is still valid.

Kochigachi suicidesquad Wednesday, June 29, 2016

Well they knew exactly what they were getting into and then used SM to get fame & backstab.

suicidesquad Kochigachi Wednesday, June 29, 2016

That's why I said they are greedy aszhole.

xoliaxo XNUT_Channie Wednesday, June 29, 2016

I think the contracts with SME is still valid when they sign another contract in china.

xcessx suicidesquad Wednesday, June 29, 2016

Well, KrisHanTao violated their contract and there's payment for penalty. This is not a simple matter, the three made illegal and rash decisions by promoting and signing with other companies. SM has the right to file lawsuits.

lousgnirednaw xcessx Friday, July 1, 2016

Wait. So the contract still on till now with SM? And when will it terminate? After all lawsuit settle? And how long will it take? 😱

beyondordinary Wednesday, June 29, 2016

Oh, this is still going on? Get over it already SM. Both sides are doing fine ffs.

Kochigachi beyondordinary Wednesday, June 29, 2016

No, it's not over. They have used SM to get their fame so SM have right o sue them.

xcessx beyondordinary Wednesday, June 29, 2016

Kris, Luhan and Tao violated their contracts with SM before they nullified them. It wasn't a smart move to file a lawsuit then continue activities illegally with other companies in China. No matter how valid KrisLuTao's reasons for leaving, SM has the right to ask them for payments for breaking their contracts.

wenders Kochigachi Thursday, June 30, 2016

SM is doing what will bring money in for them. those three didn't go about their situation in the right way.

fairytaeil Tuesday, June 28, 2016

SM doesn't treat its non-Korean artists the same as Chinese artists. Its obvious from all the lawsuits they've had over the years. All three former members were treated shittily, so I don't blame them for trying to escape the kpop industry. Isn't it time to give up though, SM? Kristaolu won't ever return to EXO again and you know it. Stop wasting money and leave our boys in peace.

XNUT_Channie fairytaeil Wednesday, June 29, 2016

HAHAHA,Exactly. They keep on pulling KrisTaoLu back on SME and EXO. LOL

Kochigachi fairytaeil Wednesday, June 29, 2016

What? Chinese are foreigner not Korean, why do they deserve to be treated same as locals in Korea? Do China treats Koreans same as their own citizens? These Chinese boys used SM and needs to be banned.

gwaltz fairytaeil Wednesday, June 29, 2016

the reason why SM still clinging onto this is not because they want these three gentlemen to come back as a member of EXO. They want these gentlemen to legally pay their fines for breaking the contract and for illegal promotions.

InfinitiveSky Kochigachi Wednesday, June 29, 2016

Ok, so come to my country and I will treat you like an immigrate who steals work that should go to my people. It shouldn't matter to you because you clearly think this is right. Are you serious?? Your comment is racist and awful. People like you are one of the reasons this world is collapsing.

Saber_Princess fairytaeil Wednesday, June 29, 2016

That is why they are not going to give up because they don't want to waste money. You know, all this happens because it is all about the money. If you get sued and be put in court and you lose in the hearing, you have to pay a big amount for your penalties. That's why neither side is never giving up because we all know that money is so difficult to earn and can just go away in a matter of seconds. No want wants to pay the money, So, until they come up with a settlement, Neither side are not giving up.

elly2k Tuesday, June 28, 2016

Although I hate SM for what they did to JYJ, but in this matter, I say go for it.

bruised Tuesday, June 28, 2016

SM will most likely win. I wonder what SM will do with them once they win. Will SM have them go back to EXO or just never promote them so they can't promote in another company?

jazzkryptonite bruised Tuesday, June 28, 2016

Probably stop promoting, since them going back to Exo would be hella awkward.

jazzkryptonite bruised Tuesday, June 28, 2016

Or just ask for money since that's how all these lawsuits started.SM wants their money.

Rand_Al_Thor jazzkryptonite Tuesday, June 28, 2016

They damaged the Exo brand, broke a binding contract, made new illegal contracts which stole money from SM and the other exo members. The list goes on. Think what nike would do if someone was selling some other brand in china.

Kochigachi jazzkryptonite Wednesday, June 29, 2016

Under normal business law, SM is right. These 3 Chinese boys needs to learn this isn't how they should use other people's property for their own gains.

Saber_Princess bruised Wednesday, June 29, 2016

It works like this, if they agreed a settlement in SM's favor, These boys have to pay their damages for breach of contract. Of course, their contract is nullified. In cases like this in court, usually, Accused party (the boys) will settle with a sum of money and breaking off their contracts completely. The ruling party (SM) get's the right to decide their own stance for the matter.

Sirens Tuesday, June 28, 2016

How much longer will this go on?!

sophiesu Tuesday, June 28, 2016

I think the reason why SM is dragging this on is because they have a lot of Chinese trainees, and they probably are setting an example to let them know what the outcome will be, and that it won't be a easy choice to just leave SM and start to promote in CHina

Kochigachi sophiesu Wednesday, June 29, 2016

Good comment.
