On the June 26 episode of '1 Night 2 Days,' the crew visited Ewha Woman's University to give the students special lectures.

Cha Tae Hyun was one of the last members to give his lecture, and he implicitly referred to his recent movie 'My Sassy Girl 2' which wasn't received all that well.

When a student spilled to him that she's worried about her low self-esteem, Cha Tae Hyun related to her by responding, "As you all know, my recent film was a total flop so my self worth has hit rock bottom."

The actor then consoled the student by telling her, "You just overcome it as you live your life. I hope that you won't be agonizing too much over your low self-esteem."

sigh...i wish he would say good things about my sassy girl 2, cuz in reality it doesn't rly affect him that much. he was in the first one that did well, so ppl are gonna say that the sequel didn't do well cuz of victoria, not him. and victoria is taking most of the heat, so it hurts victoria a lot when he says bad things about the movie. victoria's going through a lot rite now so it prolly would be nice to get some support from him.

ok?? so wait where's the part that he says something that it isn't good?? He was clearly STATING a fact. He says that it was a flop because it really is. Obviously he didn't mean to blame anyone here.

he shouldn't accept the offer at the first place. And the co-star is Victoria? it makes it become a bigger No No.

I don't want to be rude but there was no point on making a sequel on the first place!! "My sassy girl" could never be replaced and only exists by itself... I really love cha tae hyun but it was a really silly move especially as the original cast was not complete :s

He shouldn't have agreed to do it without Jun Ji Hyun in the first place. It was meant to flop even before they started filming.

This movie was doom from the very beginning, who's idea was it to do a sequel like its just out of nowhere.

Sequels usually never does better than the original in any country. People will always compare the two and people already weren't happy the original actress wasn't part of the second one as well. This film shouldn't have been done. I think however that the chemistry between Cha Tae Hyun and Victoria was actually good so a different movie project with these two probably would have done well at the box office.

I think it should have stopped at the first movie. Because people don't want to associate another girl character as the sassy girl. I hope the drama version does well tho

The movie flop because people want jun ji hyun to act in the movie.. but actually Victoria really did so well..

i didn't watch the movie at all. i don't think it's an issue with poor acting or what, but having a sequel to this classic movie without the complete actual cast is just a dumb move. it might have done better if they change up the entire couple to victoria with another young actor instead. people wants CTH with JJH. if they couldn't get the same pairing they should have changed the whole pairing instead of just replacing one of them. in addition, most sequels to such classic movies pretty much end up as a flop....

nah it's a flop because making a sequel isn't necessary at all.

According to an interview, he gave it a lot of thought, but he wanted to play Gyeunwoo's role again. TBH, aside from cold reception for a sequel, the trend for Korean movies recently has been dark films and really an off time for romcoms. I think, while he feel sad about how the movie flopped, he's in a better place than what happened to his career years ago. In an interview years ago, he expressed gratitude to producers that he is still tapped to lead in films. Himnaeseyo oppa!
