The ‘Weibo Cultural Exchange Night in Thailand’, also known as ‘Weibo Gala 2025’, wrapped up on August 16, 2025 ICT at Bangkok’s Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. Hosted by Weibo, China’s leading social media platform, this annual gala highlights cross-border culture and entertainment, bringing together Asia’s most prominent stars for awards and performances.
Lee Soo Hyuk captured the spotlight as the recipient of the Most Popular Korean Artist award—a title that reflects his expansive influence across Asia. His popularity stems from dramatic roles that resonate with regional audiences, such as the Thai-viewership hit ‘Scholar Who Walks the Night’, ongoing success on LINE TV, and his award-winning performance in ‘S Line’, which earned the Best Music Award at Canneseries.

Jaechan of DKZ was honored with the Weibo Thailand Overseas Emerging Power Artist award in recognition of his rising artistic presence and cross-border appeal. His involvement in creating ‘JCFACTORY vol.2’—showcasing his songwriting and composing talents—and his active promotions in Greater China helped build his growing influence.

Kep1er, the internationally acclaimed girl group, served as presenters during key award segments, underscoring their presence in the regional spotlight. Their diverse lineup and standout Weibo fandom—driven in part by member Shen Xiaoting—reinforced K-pop’s pan-Asian reach.
Thai solo star BamBam, formerly of GOT7, also made waves, marking a rare public appearance that further emphasized his status as a cultural bridge between Korea and Thailand.
More than just an awards event, ‘Weibo Gala 2025’ functioned as a cultural hub where pan-Asian entertainment, artistry, and fandom converged—broadcast live and watched by millions. With notable stars like Lee Soo Hyuk, Jaechan, and Kep1er the gala reaffirmed how K-pop and K-drama are central to Asia’s cultural discourse and cross-border unity.
