Yonhap News reported on May 16 that a 70-year-old Kim's one-story home in Okcheon County, North Chungcheong Province caught up in flames, leading to the death of around 100 dogs due to suffocation.
The fire was extinguished after 30 minutes, burning down the home's 1,420 square feet of space and nearly everything within.

It was reported that Kim was breeding the dogs to sell them at a local auction. Police relayed that Kim was out on personal business at the time the fire had occurred, and they are currently investigating the root cause of the fire.
