How K-pop artists relate to some of the people around you

Lee Hyori, 2PM, 2NE1, After School, Big Bang, Seungri, MBLAQ, SECRET, SHINee, Girls

Wherever you go, in every walk of life, there always seems to be a homogeneous structure for classifying people - for instance, the jock, the smart at math Asian, the creeper, what have you. It's a gross and insensitive habit, but like all well-trained bad habits, it's more or less second nature.

Don't feel stigmatized, though - our tendency to label is only natural, and for the most part, we really can't help ourselves.

The reasons we do so range from both ends - it could be instinctive; it could be for the sake of simplicity or consistency. And for some of the more questionable people out there, it could very well be for the sake of feeding your narcissistic tendencies, making yourself feel you're above everyone else.

Whatever. The point of the matter is - we all do it. But admittedly, some of the labels are just dead on and so applicable to different situations and people.

So we decided to give it a try. And what better targets? Well, this is allkpop, and as such, labeling some of your favorite K-Pop idols would make sense, contextually speaking.

We understand that it's essentially the entertainment agencies, or the big guns, that spawn their careers. But the artists, in more ways than one, define their agencies just as much as their agencies define them. And it's quite interesting to see how some of those dynamics seep through the artists' style and nuance.

Here's what we came up!

The little sisters you wish you had - SECRET

They're cute, bubbly, and smile-inducing. Bonus points for having adorable choreography that makes you want to just pinch their cheeks.

The older brothers you wish you had - Super Junior

Look at them. If you have someone bothering you, these guys look like they could do some serious damage, especially if they travel in their pack.

The foreign exchange kids who try really hard - Wonder Girls

Kudos to them for having the guts to branch out into an entirely new market. Whether you're a fan or not, you have to applaud their extraordinary effort.

Though tangential, can you imagine Big Bang's Seungri branching out to the American market with his jaw-dropping Engrish? Oh man, train wreck waiting to happen.

The gym rats - 2PM

Ovaries gone.

The unconventional dressers - 2NE1

Fashion terrorist or resourceful hoarder? Whether their singular fashion taste makes you want to vomit or stare in awe, it's no question that these ladies turn heads wherever they go.

The boys who look better dressed as girls than most girls their age - SHINee

Is it fair that the boys of SHINee look more beautiful than do a sizable number of girls I know? Not necessarily. But it's fine, I suppose. Really.

The girls who make your self-esteem take a turn for the worse - After School

Their legs, their legs, their legs.

The boys who take Halloween costume coordination to new extremes - MBLAQ

MBLAQ seems like the type of group who would do anything for a good laugh. Thankfully, we can get a peek of their playful personalities on variety programs.

The overdue bachelors - Shinhwa

With the youngest member coming in at the tender age of 32, these ahjuhsshi's men just might want to consider settling down.

The boys who can't leave their hair alone - Big Bang

They put their poor hair through so much hardship. And most of the time, it ends up looking either really unique and iconic, or it goes the other way entirely - as in a my-dad's-hair-looks-way-better type of crash and burn.

The princesses - Girls' Generation

Everyone knows them. Everyone wants to be them. They rest comfortably atop the K-Pop hierarchal structure, and it appears that they won't be dethroned anytime soon.

The chick who looks better than you ever will at her age - Lee Hyori

She's been in the entertainment industry for nearly as long as some of our readers have been alive. She's an icon and K-Pop simply wouldn't be where it is today without her. All hail the queen.
