John Park auditioned for American Idol to prepare himself for Superstar K

'Mnet's Superstar K2' contestant John Park recently made a surprise confession, revealing that he auditioned for 'American Idol' only as a preparation to audition for 'Superstar K'. John Park is one of the three remaining contestants left on this season of Superstar K, after 17-year-old Kang Seung Yoon was eliminated this week. During an interview before his stage performance, John Park revealed that 'Superstar K' has made a great impact in his life, and said, "I auditioned for 'American Idol' to get ready for 'Superstar K'. This is the most important moment in my life." Before his appearance on 'Superstar K', John Park was more famously known as a contestant on the popular TV show, 'American Idol', from which he received a great amount of attention, especially from fellow Koreans, for being the only Korean to get into the Top 20 of the show.
