'Awl' is based on a popular webtoon by the same name and is about supermarket employees who lead ordinary lives until they come face to face with a life-changing event.
Yesung will be taking on the role of the Hwang Joon Chul, a worker in charge of the seafood department at 'Pureumi Mart,' whose hapless life is thrown around by society's many injustices. The newly idol-turned actor will be joined by Hyun Woo, Park Si Hwan, and Ji Hyun Woo.
Yesung relayed his excitement for his first acting gig, stating, "Despite this being my first attempt at acting, it's an honor to be part of a project that is based on such a great webtoon. I was really nervous before the filming began but the set atmosphere allowed me to enjoy myself everyday. I want to deliver a story that viewers can relate to through my role Hwang Joon Chul. I'm trying my very best so please give me a lot of support."
