I guess my drama-plot-predicting super power has somewhat dwindled since I turned out to be dead wrong. I thought for sure that in this episode YS would find out the true identity of SY, which would have made the drama more interesting than it is, but it looks like YS didn't get the slightest clue. Not when the scholar teleported right before her eyes into the forest. Not when she saw SY lift Crown Prince Lee Yoon (CPY) into the air using only one arm. Not all those countless times when he saved her from the brink of death. And definitely not even when she clearly saw how SY caught a flying arrow with his bare hand. The only way she'll ever learn of SY's blood-sucking character is if he yells in her face, "Surprise! I'm a vampire!!"

Hye Ryeong (HR), who chanced upon CPY on the road, was engaging in some light chatter with him when suddenly, a bowman strikes her in the back with an arrow. Thankfully, CPY takes her to a safe place and nurses her back to health. Now, HR doesn't yet know that CPY is the crown prince and that he is the person she is to marry.
This part really confused me because the bowman who shot the arrow was HR's underling. He couldn't have been trying to kill CPY either because HR ordered him to follow the crown prince around in case anything happens to him. Later, when HR meets the king and CPY formally 'for the first time' she acts shocked, feigning innocent and pretending that she hasn't been hatching her little scheme to marry CPY. It's like she was acting within her acting role.

Through SY, CPY learns that YS is really Seo Jin, the childhood buddy he has not been able to forget. At first, CPY was bewildered because he had believed Jin to be a dude. But turns out, Jin's father, Seo Jeong Do, had disguised her daughter as a boy to protect her from Gwi.
SY barely convinces the king and CPY to trust him and then tries to persuade them into abandoning their plans to lure Gwi into the palace. The details of their scheme is not revealed, but they already have the 'hunting ground' and the 'hunter' prepared. All they now need to do is bait their game, aka Gwi. It's really messed up that they planned a carnage right at CPY and HR's wedding.

Actually, it's really messed up. What began as a happy affair turned into a downright bloodbath as the bait struck back at the hunters and killed pretty much all of them. Seems like the sneaky, slimy little Primes Minister Choi Chul Joong knew of the king's plan all along and tattletaled on Gwi. Every time I see the prime minister's odious face and his contemptible smirk, I just want to punch through the screen and rip that self-righteous grin right off his face. Is is just me that has those violent impulses? Oh...awkwaaaaaarrrrrrrrrd.
The king finds out the secret behind the secret to killing Gwi is none other than YS herself! The maternal relation part of the riddle was referring to her. Both SY and CPY learn of this secret and think that they'll have to sacrifice YS to Gwi. DUN DUN DUN.�
