With netizens showing much interest in Heechul's comments made on JTBC's 'Ssul Jeon' about the 'Idol Star Athletics Championship', MBC was reached for comments and a rep offered the broadcast station's thoughts.

As previously mentioned, Heechul commented that idols don't really have much of a choice when it comes to participating in the event since if they refuse to attend, they might end up putting themselves into a case where they may not be on good terms with the broadcast station. Thereby hinting that this may lead those idol groups to suffer disadvantages on shows like the broadcast station's music programs.

An MBC rep responded on the 27th, "We heard about Heechul's comments on JTBC's 'Ssul Jeon'. Expressing diverse thoughts like that is one of the special traits of 'Ssul Jeon', so we don't think it's something to read into."

"It seems like rumors about idol groups suffering disadvantages on MBC's music programs if they don't appear on 'Idol Star Athletics Championship' have been raised a few times. However, in reality, even in this year's filming there were several cases of idol groups that couldn't make the filming because of their schedules," the rep added, revealing that idols are not forced or threatened to film for the show.

When asked if there is another holiday special 'Idol Star Athletics Championship' planned for this year, another rep commented, "Since the response to this past Chuseok special was good, we are thinking towards the direction of doing one... However, as there is still some time left, we'll have to discuss it when it gets closer to the date."

Ummm... really.... the only good thing about IAC is the fanservice.... and.... that's it!! Why exactly do these idols even have to attend especially when all you see are articles popping up about injured idols. Why would you even want to appear in a program like that? Idols should only sing, dance and act, why should they have to do athletics? What's wrong with MBC. This is why I love Heechul, he's so blunt and it's not even a bad thing. It's not like this isn't the first time MBC has been under fire... they should just return Star Dance Battle!!!

The fact that they don't really flat out deny that idols suffer in the future if they don't go, makes their answer sound like a lie. They just beat around the bush saying how some idols don't attend because of this and that, but never denying anything. Even though it has not been the first time they've been accused of it.

We all know how blunt Heechul is, he is famous for it, so this time I'm taking his side and not buying MBC bullshit excuses.

I just remember an article said that heechul really is the most responsible in suju and (sorry to say) there really are gays in them, amazingly enough Heechul is not one of them contrary to him acting feminine in broadcasts. He's really a good guy according to sources

People who doesnt know Super Junior members and say they are gay just judge by seeing a photo. in the real life and real shows they are really normal and doesnt seem gay at all.

@elf-marzieh I didn't really judge them by photos, If I were to judge a gay it would be heechul, but apparently that was the surprising part. apparently you only read "ALL SUJU ARE GAY" but apparently that's not what i meant, although there are as "THEY" say, but they i meant not netizens

and here i am wondering why YG artists never win or maybe invited in SHOW CHAMPIONSHIP.. and Music Core removed chart system and awards when GD was on top.. what a cheap shot..

Heechul is blunt and honest.. i'm happy your back..

It's a funny thing because YG doesn't give a f*ck because they already know how nasty some of the companies are. Yet YG are still on top of the business. Their loss not YG's

Bull. What Heechul says is true. Last year, AKP published an article about an idol group that received heat after being unable to attend the Idol Star Athletics. Both parties claimed it was because the group's schedule wouldn't permit them to participate, but the fact that they went under fire for a valid reason like such (if it was true) goes to show that not attending the ISAC isn't exactly a luxury idol groups have.

he wouldn't said those things if it wasn't true, right? and Heechul, himself is always being honest, sooo... it might be true.

Like Heechul said there really is no point for some idols who arent that athletic to attend this event as their face will probably not even show on screen. Alot of idols get edited out and sometimes you might as well not be there

don't sugar coat it, hee chul himself knows how hard the idol industry is.. I love how they try to act all cool, but I'm pretty sure they kinda wet their pants for a second there hahaha.. I wonder if someday there is one who will snap and reveal the truth and horrors behind the limelight

definetly, he wouldnt say that for nothing, but its kind of tricky if the idols themselves HAVE schedule and therefore a reason to miss it rather than say they just dont want to go :/

i'm glad Heechul cameback and i can see why it's interesting for him to appear on a cable program (more freedom), but i hope he will be careful though, some of the Super Junior members are working on MBC. As an ELF i love Heechul a lot but he tends to be a little bit egocentric and since he came out of the army i can feel that he is eager to be noticed again and even though i understand (2 years away from the spotlights it's hard for people like him) i hope he will consider the others before doing something which could harm Super Junior.

i love Diva heechul but sometimes he is maybe a little bit too much a diva ?

i'm expecting to be downvoted but i try to stay objective even with my biases.
