On April 11th, JUNGLE Entertainment revealed to allkpop that hip hop musician Tiger JK was selected as the honorary ambassador for the "R-16 Korea 2011 World B-boy Masters Championship"!
The championship first began in 2007, and has since grown to become one of the top five b-boy championships in the world. The event is backed by the Korea Tourism Organization to promote awareness about Korea overseas.
The KTO expressed, "We selected Tiger JK as our honorary ambassador because of his image as a representative hip hop musician of Korea. We felt that he fit well with our b-boy championship."
Tiger JK added, "It's an honor to become an ambassador for such an event. Through this opportunity, I hope that the b-boy and hip hop cultures will become more popular with the public. I'll be working my hardest to make sure that this championship can grow to become a cultural festival representative of Korea."
Over 16 countries and 200 b-boys will be taking part in the championship, which will take place on July 2nd and 3rd.
