AKP STAFF

Korail employee 'A' is under fire after accessing BTS RM's personal information unauthorized.

According to SBS 8 News on March 1, an employee of national railway operator Korail was found to have accessed the personal information of BTS member RM on multiple occasions unauthorized. It's reported employee 'A' was able to gain access to RM's train ticketing information as well as his personal information, including his address, mobile phone number, and more, which the employee accessed unauthorized 18 times since 2019.

Customer information is only available for work purposes in authorized departments, and 'A' was able to access the information as an IT employee. 'A' is said to have told those around him that they checked RM's train reservation details and even gave their friend RM's ticketing information so the friend could buy a nearby seat.

After an internal audit, Korail stated, "We confirmed 'A' accessed personal information without permission, but it has not been confirmed that 'A' leaked the information outside the company."

'A' has since been suspended from Korail. When questioned by SBS 8 News, 'A' stated, "I accessed it simply out of curiosity, and I'll be reflecting on myself."

It's not a surprise to learn how low some people will stoop to stalk celebrities, but it's difficult to read sometimes. I could never be strong enough to deal with this; the personal invasion of privacy would just feel too violating.

I hope this employee and others who do similar things get fired and prosecuted.

"Simply out of curiosity"? Ah, yes, such a simple situation and desire to have, (no). The fact that this person is acting nonchalant, as if they didn't just go and commit CRIMES, including invading another human-being's information and privacy is beyond me. It's disgusting just how much stan culture has normalised and how far these people are willing to go.
