It's been approximately 6 months since the new chips, called 'Bbase!' went out on Korean shelves. It's popularity skyrocketed soon after through word of mouth, as people found the snack a perfect match when drinking alcohol, and also seemed to approve 'Bbase!'s unique feature of being just 2.2 mms thick - the thinnest shrimp-flavored chip ever. 

In a period of about 5 months after release, 'Bbase!' sold over 6,500,000 bags. According to reports, the time period it takes for a bag to be sold once the snack hits shelves is 1.4 seconds. The average sale speed for new snack products on shelves is 11 seconds. To respond to popular demand, 'Bbase!' recently put out a garlic-flavored line, in addition to its regular line. 

Netizens commented about the popularity of 'Bbase!' spreading by word of mouth, "This is srsly best", "I need to go buy some", "It's tastier than 'Saewookkang'", "My friend also told me this was good, I'll try it", "The blue bag is tastier than the garlic", and more. Not everyone, of course, agreed that the new shrimp-flavored snacks are tasty, and those who tried it but did not like it simply said that it was slightly greasy, it smelled odd, etc.
